There will be a Special Research questline available at the end of the Season of Alola on June 1. In order to access this Special Research, you'll need to do one of two things.

First, you can complete the four islands' Special Research lines, including A Melemele Adventure, by June 1. The second option is to buy a ticket from the in-game shop for USD $4.99 or the equivalent in your local currency.

So, if you'd like to access this end-of-season research for free, be sure to complete A Melemele Adventure and the remaining three questline when they are released!

The other islands will have their Special Research lines released throughout the Season of Alola. These are the dates:

  • March 22 (presumably Akala Island)
  • April 12 (presumably Ula’ula Island)
  • May 10 (presumably Poni Island)
  • May 25 - end-of-season Special Research becomes available (you still have until June 1 to unlock it)

Each of these Special Research lines is permanently available, so they won’t disappear if you don’t finish them in time. The only thing you’ll miss out on is getting the end-of-season research for free.

Still working on the Special Research line from the Season of Mischief? Here's a guide to the Pokemon GO Misunderstood Mischief special research.
