Pokemon BDSP Drifloon is a frustrating Pokemon to catch in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, because it's incredibly elusive. In fact, you don't even stand a chance of catching a Drifloon in Pokemon BDSP unless it's a very specific day of the week. While most Pokemon can be readily found in the game by exploring certain routes and locations, Drifloon is similar to a legendary Pokemon in that there is only one of them in the game. But it isn't just a case of heading to the right location to find Drifloon, you also need to know when to go there. This guide has all of the information that you need to find and catch Drifloon in Pokemon BDSP including where to find it, when to find it, and how to get more than one of them in the game.

Drifloon is a very rare Pokemon that needs to be caught in order to complete the Pokedex. The Pokemon can be found at Valley Windworks in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but only on a certain day as well as there only be one of them in each game, meaning that once Drifloon is caught there is no way to get another one without starting a new game.

To catch Drifloon you have to visit Valley Windworks on a Friday as this is the only day that the Pokemon will show up. Drifloon will only appear once you defeat the Team Galactic members that tried to corner off the wind plant. Once it appears you can battle it as normal and catch it. If you knock it out or run away you will have to wait until the following Friday before it will show up again. But, once it has been caught and is in your possession another one won't appear the following Friday.

Pokemon BDSP Drifloon: How To Catch It On Another Day

While Drifloon appears on Friday, many players won't want to wait up to six days for the next opportunity to catch this Pokemon, and there is a method you can use to skip this wait and be able to catch Drifloon any time you want to.

To do this, you can go into the System Settings menu on the Nintendo Switch and then click on System and then Date and Time to change the date on your console to Friday which may then spawn Drifloon into the game. We've tested it and it seems quite hit and miss though, so if you can't get it to work, you've got no choice but to wait until the next Friday rolls around.

Pokemon BDSP Drifloon: How To Get More

Only one Drifloon will appear in Pokemon BDSP, with it no longer spawning once caught. But, there are a couple of ways you can get multiple into your game without glitches or duplication. One option is to use a second version of the game and catch another one and then either trade it with a second Nintendo Switch console or wait for Pokemon Home integration to come in early 2022. Another option is to breed it with Ditto, which will also change the stats and allow Drifloon to learn the following egg moves:

  • Body Slam
  • Clear Smog
  • Destiny Bond
  • Disable
  • Haze
  • Hypnosis
  • Memento
  • Tailwind
  • Weather Ball

Now you know everything there is to know about Drifloon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, why not take a look at how to get Pokemon to follow in Pokemon BDSP.
