Overwatch 2: Story Mode Features
Besides animated shorts and limited-time PvE game modes, this is the first time that Blizzard will have an established PvE mode for the Overwatch franchise. This is an exciting prospect for fans as Overwatch has established lore around many of the game's favourite characters.
The story mode will be available to play in co-op and will feature an entire campaign in which players can replay the end 'Hero Missions'. The mode will also incorporate many standard RPG features such as a skill tree and unlockable upgrades. Some upgrades will be exclusive to PvE mode and players will have to participate to get them.
Overwatch 2 Story Mode: When Will It Release?
Blizzard hasn't released a specific date for PvE yet but they have released a roadmap for 2023 in which they specify that they will "push the story forwards through PvE experiences beginning in 2023". So, we can surmise that story mode will be released sometime in early 2023. Fans have speculated on a February date with the release of season 3, but this is down to rumours so far.
