Where To Find Tanks In Fortnite
Thanks to the ongoing conflict between The Seven and the Imagined Order (IO), ownership of the Fortnite Tanks is constantly changing hands. Tanks in IO territory exhibit markings and insignias of the IO, while Tanks in Resistance land bear The Seven's colours.
Despite all of this, Tanks continue to spawn in the same locations as they have all of Chapter 3 Season 2.
You can find Tanks at the following locations:
- Command Cavern
- The Fortress
- The Daily Bugle
- Fortnite Tilted Towers
- Coney Crossroads
- Rocky Reels
- Condo Canyon
All of the points of interest on the above list minus Command Cavern feature just a single Tank in their perimeters. Command Cavern, the IO's headquarters, has two Tanks.
Tanks are highly sought after vehicles, so don't expect them to remain in one place for very long. If you don't land directly on a Tank spawn and secure it for yourself, there's a good chance an enemy player or IO Guard will commandeer it.
How To Disable A Tank By Damaging The Engine In Fortnite
A Week 7 Seasonal Quest tasks us with disabling a Tank by damaging the engine. It's important to note that the Challenge does not specify that someone must be occupying the Tank when you disable it.
To begin this Quest, you'll need a Tank to target. Visit any of the spots where Tanks spawn and locate the area's Tank.
The Tank engine is situated on the rear end of the vehicle. The two yellow vents on the back of the Tank represent the engine. To disable it, unload a barrage of bullets at the engine or even just smack it with your Pickaxe. The Tank engine will light up as you deal damage. After a certain amount of damage has been dealt, the engine will go up in flames, disabling the Tank for a short period.
As always, completing a Seasonal Quest will earn you 20k XP toward your Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Battle Pass and Season Level. You'll need to reach Level 200 to get all of the Fortnite Super Styles, so every bit of XP is critical!
The Fortnite Anvil Rocket Launcher is a great tool to outright destroy Tanks.
