Pace has been the dominant feature in EA FC 24 for over 10 years now, and while it perhaps isn't as strong in Ultimate Team as it once was, the fastest players in the game are still extremely valuable to have in your starting XI.

From wingers who speed down the line, to defenders who can catch up to even the most nimble of attackers, you'll want to have plenty of pace throughout your squad. You'll also want to consider certain PlayStyles too, as they can do a lot to increase the speed of your players further.

Which players have the highest pace in Ultimate Team?

Here's a list of the fastest players that you can pick up right now in EA FC 24, encompassing the classic Golds (and those fancy new promo cards too):

Player (Card Type) Pace
Yankuba Minteh (IF) 99
Saeed Al Owairan (GOLAZO Hero) 99
Luis Diaz (Fantasy) 99
Ousmane Dembele (Fantasy) 99
Ferland Mendy (Fantasy) 99
Galeno (RTTF) 99
Jeremie Frimpong (TOTY) 99
Alphonso Davies (Flashback) 99
Jonjo Shelvey (Winter Wildcards) 99
Kylian Mbappe (TOTY) 99
Kylian Mbappe (POTM/TOTGS/IF/RB) 98
Vinicus Jr. (Thunderstruck) 98
Mohammed Fuseini (IF) 98
Karim Adeyemi (Winter Wildcards) 98
Alphonso Davies (Thunderstruck) 98
Lois Openda (Ultimate Birthday) 98
Omar Marmoush (Fantasy) 98
Timo Werner (Fantasy) 98
Rafael Leao (RTTF) 98
Ansu Fati (RTTF) 98
Theo Hernandez (TOTY) 98

Many of the usual suspects are here as the fastest players, with an abundance of promo cards due to their boosted stats. The fact that Kylian Mbappe appears on this list five times is rather spectacular, but the biggest surprise for me is Jonjo Shelvey - who probably never imagined that he'd have anywhere near 99 pace.

Pacey attackers can thankfully be nullified by the fastest defenders in the game though, so make sure to have at least a few in your backline if you want to defend against those dangerous counter attacks:

Player (Card Type) Pace
Theo Hernandez (IF) 95
Daniel Munoz (IF) 93
Kyle Walker (Manchester City) 91
Carlos Alberto (Ultimate Birthday) 91
Ivan Cordoba (GOLAZO) 90
Paolo Maldini (Future Stars) 89
Ibanez (IF) 89
Carlos Alberto (Icon) 89
Federico Dimarco (IF) 88
Fikayo Tomori (Versus Fire) 88
Dayot Upamecano (Versus Ice) 87
Piero Hincapie (RTTK) 87
Paolo Maldini (Ultimate Dynasties) 87
Radu Dragusin (IF) 86
Ivan Cordoba (Hero) 86
Joe Gomez (Thunderstruck) 86
Lukas Klostermann (Thunderstruck) 86
Eder Militao (Winter Wildcards) 86

There are some incredibly fast cards on offer here, and it's no surprise that two fullbacks turned centre-backs sit near the top of the list in Hernandez and Walker.

We're still waiting for the TOTY defender stats to be revealed though, so expect both Virgil van Dijk and Ruben Dias to be near the top of this list in the near future.

Best PlayStyles for pace in Ultimate Team

  • Rapid
  • Quick Step
  • Relentless
  • Technical
  • First Touch

Both Rapid and Quick Step are the best PlayStyles for pace in EA FC 24, as they directly enhance the speed at which your players move when either sprinting or using the Controlled Sprint mechanic.

Relentless is great to keep the pace of your players up across the course of an entire game - especially one that goes to extra time - as fatigue can dramatically slow your players. While it has been nerfed, Technical is still super strong for making your players move quicker without directly impacting their pace, as they can move with much greater precision.

Finally, while only minor, any player with the First Touch PlayStyle is going to feel quicker from the offset, as they will be able to control the ball and get moving with much greater ease.
