Vanellope was first teased during the 2023 content roadmap blog post, along with a new DreamSnaps photo challenge (explained further below).

The Wreck-it-Ralph universe has long since been teased within Disney Dreamlight Valley, there is currently an abundance of sweet-themed furniture and clothing items which rotates daily within Scrooge McDuck's store. As such, fans have been speculating for some time on a Wreck-it-Ralph appearance.

Within a recent Tweet, Gameloft teased Vanellope along with her sweet-themed house, racing car and a new waterfall feature. As with other villagers, Vanellope will also have her own set of friendship quests to complete in return for Wreck-it-Ralph-themed rewards.

This is the first major character drop since the huge Remembering update in June and comes just before the September update which is due to bring Belle from Beauty and the Beast into the game.

Disney Dreamlight Valley DreamSnaps challenge explained: New ways to get Moonstones

One criticism many players have had is that there aren’t enough ways to earn Moonstones in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Other than buying the premium currency with real-life cash, you can currently earn just 50 Moonstones a day in-game by opening blue chests.

With the DreamSnaps Update, Gameloft is looking to adjust this. The update will bring a new community photo challenge where players can compete for rewards like furniture, clothes and Moonstones. This will be the game's first multiplayer feature.

Players who participate in the new photo challenge can earn a minimum of 300 Moonstones per week, with extra Moonstones available depending on your ranking within the challenge. You can also earn an additional 50 Moonstones per week by voting for your favourite participants.

The premise of the DreamSnaps challenge is to take a weekly photo and meet the preset requirements in the Valley. The themes of the challenge are set to change weekly, with players speculating that it may require specific outfits, scenery and character combinations to achieve.

Disney Dreamlight Valley has noted to players that the Touch of Magic Clothing and Furniture are not compatible with the DreamSnaps challenge and cannot be included in submissions.
