Before the zombie that holds the relevant key spawns, you will likely fight your way through the mall and end up in the safehouse, where the Serling Reception Safe can be found behind the desk.

How to find the Serling Reception key
- Complete 'The Final Gauntlet' by finding Dr Reed, then begin the 'Plumbing the Depths' quest.
- Head out of the safehouse into the bottom floor of the mall below.

- Defeat them to grab the Dead Island 2 Serling Reception key from their body.
You can either carry on with the quest first, or return to the reception straight away, but using the key to open the Serling Reception Safe will reward you with the Superior Melee Mutilator Mod.
