The latest Chapter for Dead by Daylight, All Things Wicked, has just been revealed, and making its way into The Fog is the triple threat of a new Killer, Survivor, and map.

The DLC drops in DbD keep coming and they don’t stop coming, as hot off the heels of the arrival of Alan Wake and a found footage teaser that had me leaping out of my chair (no, really), the game has more to delve into coming up - and soon.

Launching in the next month, All Things Wicked ties into a previous Chapter and character already present within The Entity’s realm - so here’s all I know so far about what’s to come.

All Things Wicked Chapter release date in DbD

Likely the most important news to many of us (myself included) is that All Things Wicked will be arriving in The Fog on March 12, 2024 - putting it about three weeks away at the time of writing.

What’s more, though, is that it’ll be available on Steam’s Public Test Build (also known as the PTB) from February 20, giving you a little glimpse of what to expect when it comes to the full build next month. I’ll see you all there, alright?

What is the Chapter all about?

According to a press release, All Things Wicked takes players to a place with more questions than answers, and seems to tie into already an existing Survivor (and one of my personal favourites to play as), Mikaela Reid.

Adding a new Killer, The Unknown, and a new Survivor, Sable Ward alongside the Greenville Square map, it follows a “string of mysterious disappearances [that] has plagued the town for decades.

Who is Survivor Sable Ward in Dead by Daylight?

Noted as being brave, inquisitive, and sharp, Sable Ward is Mikaela Reid’s friend, and seems to be suffering from guilt after the latter’s disappearance, and “her search for answers led her directly into The Fog.

Not liking the town of Greenville that she’s from, it’s said that she dreams of being able to get out of it - something that many people from small suburban towns can likely relate to (myself included at a younger age).

Picking up the disappearance of Mikaela herself, she’s said to be great for players who “face danger head-on in the dark depths of Map’s basements.

What are Sable Ward's Perks?

As with all new Survivors introduced in DbD, Sable Ward comes with three unique Perks that can be taught to her comrades in The Fog. As when Michaela introduced Boon Totems, Sable also introduces a new type of Perk into the game: Invocations.

NOTE: The descriptions of the Perks below have been sourced from the PTB and, as such, are subject to changes upon the live release.

Perk Description
Invocation: Weaving Spiders

When in the basement near the circle, press the Ability Button 1 to begin the Invocation. Invocations take 120 seconds. Other Survivors can join an ongoing interaction, increasing speed by 50% each. If they have an Invocation Perk equippers, they increase it by 100% instead.

Once the Invocation is completed:

You become injured and gain the Broken status effect for the rest of the trial.

All remaining Generators gain 15 charges instantly.

Strength In Shadows

When in the basement, this Perk activates. Allows you to heal without a Med-kit at 60% normal healing speed.

When you finish a heal in the basement, you see the Killer's aura for 10 seconds.

Wicked

This Perk starts with 1 token, up to a maximum of 5.

For each token, you recover from the Mangled status effect 20% faster.

For each 15 seconds spent in the basement, gain 1 token.

While affected by the Cursed status effect, you heal 10% faster.

DbD’s new Greenville Square map explained

As I’ve already established, this map focuses on the Square in the town of Greenville. Said to be “ominously quiet”, there’ll be opportunities to explore the town’s arcade, cinema concessions stand, and theatre alongside the Square itself.

The Unknown Killer in Dead by Daylight

No, it’s not that Unknown from Tekken, but as a new Killer, this Unknown seems to be even more villainous.

Details are still quite slim, but following that terrifying jump scare above, we now know from a few redactions in the press release that The Unknown is “mysterious, with it also mentioning “an evil so heinous that investigating it almost immediately invites death.

Other phrases throughout these redactions mention a “hallucination - creating husks of itself”, “more toxin”, “the more powerful”, and “infesting its prey’s mind”. This alludes to its power, UVX, that allows it to attack Survivors from afar and teleport to the various hallucinations it leaves around the map.

Frankly, the appearance of The Unknown is right up there with The Dredge for me, and it'll absolutely have me cowering in corners and edges of the map if I'm facing off against them in a match.

That latter part of infesting the mind of its prey is particularly interesting to me as a longtime DbD player, and I can’t wait to see just how The Unknown will approach the hunt for Survivors and what they’ll need to do to power those Exit Gates and successfully flee.

What are The Unknown's Perks?

The Unknown comes with three unique Perks that can be taught to all Killers and look set to spook Survivors and oppress them during chases.

NOTE: The descriptions of the Perks below have been sourced from the PTB and, as such, are subject to changes upon the live release.

Perk Description
Unbound

This Perk activates for 30 seconds after a Survivor becomes injured by any means.

After vaulting a window, you gain 5% Haste for 10 seconds.

Undone

When a Survivor misses a healing or repair Skill Check, gain 3 tokens up to 30.

When you perform the break action on a Generator, if you have any tokens, consume all of them. For each token consumed, the Generator loses 1% of total progress and becomes blocked for 1 second. Then, once the Generator is unlocked, it starts regressing. This Perk goes on cooldown for 60 seconds.

Unforeseen

When you perform the break action on a Generator, your Terror Radius transfers to the Generator for 30 seconds and its radius is set to 32 meters.

You gain Undetectable for that duration. Then this Perk goes into cooldown for 30 seconds.

Is there a trailer?

The trailer officially revealing All Things Wicked takes the form of security camera footage. As Sable Ward breaks into the movie theatre, we see spooky shadows in the corners of the screen, before she is eventually taken by The Fog that is spilling out from an unmarked room.
