Dead by Daylight’s Alien Chapter will be released on August 29, 2023, across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

However, PC players will be able to give the Alien content an early look and play in the Player Test Build (PTB) from August 8, 2023. The PTB allows PC players to test out the content and often sees Perks and Abilities adjusted according to feedback.

The new map coming to Dead by Daylight with the release of the Alien Chapter is the Nostromo Wreckage. Rather than being the strict indoor map of the Nostromo ship, it instead opts for a crash site that features the Nostromo as a structure on an outdoor map.

Survivors will have to navigate their way through burning debris and even some recognisable scenes from the Alien movie, such as the body of a certain antagonistic android on a large round table.

With enough Generators powered, there may even be a few surprises that will allow the Survivors to fight back.

Unlike space, in The Realm of the Entity, everybody can hear you scream.

Dead by Daylight new Survivor: Ellen Ripley

Perhaps one of the most recognisable final girls in horror history, Ellen Ripley is the sole survivor of the events of the original Alien film and would go on to lead the franchise until Alien: Resurrection.

Having Survived her initial encounter with The Xenomorph, Ridley would continue to face her Alien nemesis in future instalments, with one now even following her into The Fog.

While she may not have the complete likeness of Sigourney Weaver, Ellen Ripley also has some unique voice lines, and you may even catch a glimpse of a feline friend from time to time as well.

Ellen Ripley Perks in DbD

As with every new Survivor added to the game, Ellen Ripley will come with three unique perks: Chemical Trap, Light Footed and Lucky Star. Please note that these Perk descriptions are taken from the PTB Patch Notes and are subject to change upon release.

Perk

Description

Chemical Trap

After completing 70%/60%/50% progress on any generator, this perk activates. While standing next to a dropped pallet, press the Active Ability Button 2 to install a Trap, which stays active for 100/110/120 seconds. The auras of trapped pallets are revealed in yellow to all Survivors. When the Killer performs the break action on the trapped pallet, the trap explodes, and they are slowed by 50% for 4 seconds.

Light Footed

When you are healthy, this perk activates. Your running footsteps are silent. This perk goes on cool-down for 28/24/20 seconds after doing a rushed action.

Lucky Star

When you hide in a locker, this perk activates. You leave no pools of blood and make no grunts of pain for 10 seconds. When you exit the locker, you see other survivors and the closest generator's aura in yellow for 10 seconds. This perk then goes on cooldown for 40/35/30 seconds.

Dead by Daylight new Killer: The Xenomorph

A being born to kill, the Xenomorph is one of the most infamous horror antagonists, hunting down its prey and causing its offspring to burst from the chests of unsuspecting victims.

Having featured in an assortment of games, from Alien Colonial Marines to Alien Isolation, The Xenomorph has now been entrapped in The Fog by The Entity to demonstrate why it is the ultimate hunter.

The Xenomorph Perks & Powers in DbD

The Xenomorph’s Power is called Hidden Pursuit and it has several features, including map navigation, stealth and an extended attack range.

When it activates its Power, the Xenomorph can traverse the map using underground tunnels in Runner Mode, and exit from Control Stations.

Additionally, while in Runner Mode, the Xenomorph reduces its Terror Radius (heartbeat) and can attack with its tail, extending its range.

To counter The Xenomorph, Survivors can collect Remote Flame Turrets. These turrets can be set up to blast the Killer with a flamethrower. When hit with the Remote Flame Turret, it knocks The Xenomorph out of its power. However, they can be destroyed.

Alongside its Power, The Xenomorph also comes with three unique Perks: Alien Instinct, Rapid Brutality and Ultimate Weapon. Please note that these Perk descriptions are taken from the PTB Patch Notes and are subject to change upon release.

Perk

Description

Alien Instinct

This perk activates when you hook a Survivor. You see the aura of the farthest injured Survivor for 5 seconds and that Survivor is oblivious for 16/18/20 seconds.

Rapid Brutality

You can no longer gain Bloodlust. Hitting a Survivor with a basic attack gives you 5% haste for 8/9/10 seconds.

Ultimate Weapon

When you open a locker, this perk activates for 30 seconds. Survivors entering your Terror Radius scream and reveal their position and gain Blindness for 30 seconds. This perk then goes on cooldown for 40/35/30 seconds.

That’s everything you need to know so far about the Alien chapter in Dead by Daylight. With yet more horror icons being added to the roster, the possibilities are endless as to whom we could see next.
