Who is Gabriel Soma in Dead by Daylight?

In Dead by Daylight, Gabriel Soma is the sole survivor of a colonising mission gone wrong. As part of the crew of the Toba Landing, he set out to find a new planet in the distant future that humans could call home.

As a clone created to serve a function in the next stage of human progress, Gabriel Soma was a skilled robotics engineer. With every childhood memory manufactured, perhaps he was not so different from the being that would change his life.

Along the way, he crossed paths with the rogue AI, The Singularity. After witnessing the complete slaughter of his fellow crewmates, Soma was the last one standing. After fighting back and using EMPs to escape the Killer, he was left to fend for himself on a strange planet.

Being hunted by a maniacal manufactured menace, Gabriel and his foe were eventually snapped up by The Entity to take their chase into the fog.

As with any Survivor in Dead by Daylight, Gabriel Soma has three unique perks. They are Troubleshooter, Made for This and Scavenger. By increasing Gabriel’s Prestige Level, you will also unlock these Perks for other Survivors to use.

Perk

Description

Troubleshooter

When chased by the killer, the Aura of the Generator with the most progress is revealed. Additionally, the Aura of the Killer is revealed for up to 6 seconds after dropping a Pallet.

Made for This

When you are injured, gain up to 3% Haste while running. Additionally, gain Endurance for up to 10 seconds after healing another Survivor. This cannot be used while Exhausted.

Scavenger

While holding a depleted Toolbox, hitting a Great Skill Check on a Generator will give you a Token. After gaining 5 Tokens, your toolbox will be fully recharged. However, this will reduce your repair speed by up to 30 seconds.

For this build, you simply need Gabriel’s three teachable Perks: Troubleshooter, Made for This and Scavenger. While it may seem they might not have much synergy, they can be used quite effectively together in chases and while repairing Generators.

We also recommend you bring one of the following items to help you in your escape:

  • Med-Kit - To heal yourself and others
  • Toolbox - To repair Generators faster
  • Key - To give you an extra chance of escape, should the Killer close the Hatch

If you’re starting with Gabriel, you’ll want a few Perks that create a balanced play style. These perks will help you while being chased by the killer, repairing Generators, healing yourself and rescuing your fellow Survivors.

Perk

Description

We’ll Make It (General Perk)

Increases your Altruistic Healing Speed for up to 90 seconds.

Lithe (Feng Min)

Vaulting a pallet or window increases your speed. Using this perk causes Exhaustion

Prove Thyself (Dwight Fairfield)

Increases your repair speed with other Survivors nearby.

Inner Healing (General Perk)

After breaking a Totem, when injured, climbing into a locker will heal you.

Endurance Build

One of the achievements tied to the End Transmission Chapter is 'One More Step', requiring you to “take a hit while you have the Endurance status effect 10 times”. This build will help you along the way.

For this build, we also recommend you take a Med-Kit with a Styptic Agent for an extra Endurance effect.

Perk

Description

Mettle of Man (Ashley J. Williams)

After taking 3 Protection Hits, Mettle of Man activates. When injured, you can take an extra hit and gain Endurance.

Soul Guard (Cheryl Mason)

Gain Endurance after being healed or recovered from the Dying State. Able to recover fully if there is a Hex active in the trial.

Dead Hard (David King)

After being unhooked and while injured, pressing the active button allows you to take an extra hit with Endurance.

Made for This (Gabriel Soma)

When you are injured, gain up to 3% Haste while running. Additionally, gain Endurance for up to 10 seconds after healing another Survivor. This cannot be used while Exhausted.

Speedy Soma Build

This might be quite a controversial build, however, it is a case of high risk, high reward. To get the best out of this build, you will need to be injured for the entire match to utilise the speed of these Perks. This is where No Mither comes in handy.

Resilience will increase your repair speed while injured, and Made for This will increase your running speed. Meaning that while you are hastily repairing a Generator, you can make a quick getaway should the Killer find you.

Perk

Description

No Mither (David King)

Start the trial Broken. You do not leave pools of blood, your grunts of pain are reduced, your recovery speed increases and you can fully recover from the Dying State multiple times.

Resilience (General Perk)

When injured, your healing, repairing, cleansing and vaulting speeds are increased

Made for This (Gabriel Soma)

When you are injured, gain up to 3% Haste while running. Additionally, gain Endurance for up to 10 seconds after healing another Survivor. This cannot be used while Exhausted.

Hope (General Perk)

Increases your running speed after all Generators have been repaired.

Sometimes, the thrill isn't always in the chase, and you'll want to make a quiet getaway so you can focus on getting those exit gates opened. This stealth-focussed build will allow Gabriel to repair Generators in peace, as well as make sure gives the killer a run for their money... even under dire circumstances.

Perk

Description

Low Profile (Ada Wong) When you're the last Survivor standing, your Scratch Marks, Pools of Blood and Grunts of Pain are hidden for 90 seconds.
Boon: Shadow Step (Mikaela Reid) After Blessing a Totem to become a Boon, your Scratch Marks will be hidden inside the Boon's range. However, it can be Snuffed by the Killer.
Lucky Break (Yui Kimura)

After being injured, your Scratch Marks and Pools of Blood are hidden for 60 seconds.

For every second spent Healing other Survivors, Lucky Break's duration increases.

Quick & Quiet (Meg Thomas) Vault and Hide action noises are silenced. This Perk has a cooldown of 20 seconds.

And that’s everything you need to get started with Gabriel Soma and the best Perk builds you can use with him in Dead by Daylight. With these builds, and with the knowledge of all the maps in DbD, you’ll have your wits about you to escape any AI (or worse) in The Fog.
