How to find all the Mysterious Shards in Assassin's Creed Mirage

If you progress far enough through the story, you’ll no doubt start spotting plenty of Mysterious Shards appearing on your map in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. These Mysterious Shards can be exchanged for some top-tier loot, so they’re most certainly worth hunting down in the game.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has plenty of other collectibles to hunt down too, including Enigmas and Dervis’ Artifacts. However, it’s the Mysterious Shards that will net you perhaps the most exciting rewards in the form of legendary gear.

So, if you want to learn exactly where to find all of the Mysterious Shards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, we’ve got them all listed here for you.

How to find Mysterious Shards in AC Mirage

Soon after returning to Baghdad in the story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you might start seeing the Mysterious Shards appearing on your compass. They’re denoted by a little golden shard and are carried by stray members of the Order of the Ancients.

It’s worth noting that, while these NPCs usually spawn in roughly the same area each time, they often patrol along a set path in the game. As such, if you head to the exact location that we’ve marked on our maps, and they aren’t there, be sure to look around as the NPC will most likely be nearby. Try using Enkidu to search for them from above.

While you can start collecting Mysterious Shards from near the beginning of the game, I recommend advancing the story along until you reach the mission ‘My Old Home’. This will see Nehal direct you towards an old Isu temple, hidden beneath an Oasis.

Once you’ve completed this quest, Mysterious Shards will appear on your map whenever you’re nearby, making it much easier to track them down. It also means that you’ll be able to start redeeming your rewards instantly, as you don’t need to collect all of the Mysterious Shards to collect some loot.

There are 10 shards to collect in total, with eight of them residing in the city of Baghdad itself, and the remaining two found in the smaller towns out in the Wilderness.

How to exchange Mysterious Shards for rewards in AC Mirage

You can start redeeming rewards as soon as you’ve found at least two Mysterious Shards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Head to the hidden Isu temple beneath the Oasis in the northeast corner of the map, and continue down its corridors until you find a room with three locked-off alcoves.

In front of each alcove will be a stone tablet, each denoting how many Mysterious Shards you’ll need to trade in return for the loot behind the locked door. The cheapest item requires two shards, while the most expensive item costs five. You can decide the order in which you’d like to unlock each gear item, either buying the cheapest item first or saving up for the most expensive.
