Starfield is still on a slow crawl towards us, and frankly, it can hurry up.

The new game from Bethesda that's set up with the potential to become a new staple for them, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the titans of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, is starting to offer something of an informational trickle.

We're gradually learning more about the game's development through developer updates, and though fans are clamouring for a gameplay trailer, it's simply not coming yet.

Except we've actually had our first official look at Starfield's gameplay - just don't expect it to be particularly riveting.

Bethesda Reveals New Starfield Developer Roundtable Video

The first in-engine footage of Starfield has finally been revealed, but it's not an awful lot to look at, to be honest.

A brand new behind-the-scenes look at the production of Starfield has been revealed by Bethesda, seeing a round-table discussion of how the game makes itself perfect for players who love to wander and explore as they see fit, disregarding rules that developers set out for them.

The video is illuminating of the game's attitudes, seemingly wanting to give the player a lot of freedom, with some all-new technology to make the game look and feel as immersive as possible.

But, there's something else hiding in this video.

Starfield Video Reveals First Look At Gameplay

Buried in this five-and-a-half-minute discussion is eight seconds of in-game footage, something we simply haven't seen before.

The footage shows a robot booting up, and greeting you, the pilot of the ship it inhabits. That's your lot.

Though the gameplay portion is incredibly short and doesn't actually reveal a lot, it's still our first look at gameplay regardless, and graphically, Starfield looks fantastic.

It's not a lot to go on, but we're glad to have some kind of peek into how Starfield will look. Roll on November.
