Call of Duty fans are waiting with bated breath to see what the next instalment of the franchise has to offer, as Modern Warfare 2's accusations of going stale appear to be getting revamped to ease the transition to its trilogy successor.

Modern Warfare 3 has still not been announced by Call of Duty, although Activision accidentally confirmed its identity by DMCA striking MW3 content from leakers. So, with Warzone set to be the landing place for the official announcement, leakers have now found when this event will take place.

Modern Warfare 3 Reveal event pencilled in for August 17

According to Dataminer and leaker "HeyImAlaix", the Modern Warfare 3 reveal date is pencilled in for August 17.

The leaker claims that the game files have confirmed August 17 as the date when the game mode will go live, although there's no knowing how long it will actually take to complete.

Previous reveal events have been done and dusted within the hour, meaning we'll likely have Modern Warfare 3 confirmed on August 17, rather than being sent on a month-long Easter egg conquest like Treyarch deployed for Black Ops Cold War.

On top of this leak, and several others that have seen Modern Warfare 3 art revealed, Call of Duty itself has now reiterated that more art and details about Modern Warfare [Redacted] will be coming next week.

This will likely see confirmation of how the event will play out, probably containing the information that Al Mazrah will be set alight in a bid to stop radioactive explosions caused by Graves and Shadow Company.

Call of Duty fans will be holding their breath about the fate of Al Mazrah, hoping that the map will remain in the game alongside the new Las Almas battleground. This would give us an Apex-like map rotation system which has since been used for Resurgence maps.
