Over the years, Warzone's revolving metas have made us fall in love with the battle royale title a simultaneously hate it.

From the Grau to the DMR, from the HDR to the Kar 98k, and from the RPG to C4s, there's been enough variation for everyone to have some joy in their style of play.

But the latter, the dynamite block of C4, was arguably one of the most fun pieces of equipment that Warzone has ever had, and players want a buff to its animations to return this meta to its purest form.

Call of Duty fans reminisce over C4 metas

Particularly, the C4 was a joy on Verdansk, with players using the device to bring down full squads with one click of the button; in Warzone's hall of fame, players will remember NICKMERCS' rooftop car explosion, Scump's team kill in the helicopter, and even that one chopper-to-chopper throw which heralded the C4 as the go-to device in every players' loadout.

In a reminiscent montage, one player showcased a quick video of multi-kills with the C4s in years gone by, flicking between multiplayer and Warzone, where they notched up 162 kills in just two minutes.

"Not sure if it is an unpopular opinion but C4s are better like this tbh," said popular leaker "TheGhostOfHope".

Other people agreed, wanting the C4 to return to its disasterful state.

"Make C4 great again honestly," said a second fan.

A third added, "C4s being powerful i'm all for, as long as flak jacket works as a counter."

Is the C4 meta already back in Warzone?

Given the way that Warzone has changed to become much, much more close-quarters since Verdansk, with many ways to squirm out of one building to the next, the C4 meta might already be back and ready, especially if you're combatting those pesky stackers.

One player has also taken to Reddit to show that the C4 could be back, if used correctly, with them getting a simple triple-kill after breaking all three sets of armour by using the device.

"It's so odd seeing explosives do explosive things," one comment read, seemingly in awe of how the C4 was working again.

Its doubtful the C4 will get much of a buff though, with gunplay and movement being favoured recently, but wishful thinking has gone rewarded in recent weeks as Sledgehammer Games keeps one ear on the ground.
