Reports that Verdansk will be coming back to Call of Duty: Warzone in the near future have excited players.

Verdansk is a fan favourite map which was entirely removed from the game during Call of Duty: Vanguard Season One.

Reports suggest Verdansk is on the way back

Fans have been calling for Verdansk to return to Call of Duty for a long time, and it seems as though they will finally be getting their wish.

On Twitter, popular Call of Duty account, CharlieIntel, wrote: “BREAKING: Verdansk will reportedly be the big map for Call of Duty: Warzone with Treyarch’s Call of Duty 2024 game.

“Insider-Gaming reported this information citing their sources, and we’ve also heard similar information.

“Verdansk will return.”

While nothing has been confirmed at this stage, Verdansk is expected to return alongside Treyarch's new Black Ops game in 2024.

Fans are looking forward to the return of the beloved map

Fans have expressed how excited they are for the classic map to return.

One wrote: “Verdansk and Treyarch in the same year? COD is back.”

“And just like that, I fall victim to the COD cycle yet again,” another said.

Some players, however, have stated that they wish new content would be prioritised instead of bringing back previous maps.

“Where is the passion? The innovation?” one asked. “Stop recycling old content and push to create something better. The potential for gaming is limitless, and yet we're getting more of the same old content. Tragic”

Similarly, another said: “More recycled content in this franchise. Now we know why this new Warzone has a smaller map & playersize, so the remade Verdansk seems like a bigger deal. The same tactic they used to make MWIII not seem like an expansion.”
