All this doom and gloom in Call of Duty might well have benefited from some sun bursting through the clouds, but it appears that fans are more than happy with the greige state of Warzone as it is.
Ahead of Rebirth Island's sunset glow, and not long after a few rays of light burned down on a revamped Fortune's Keep outfit, players are asking for the weather to change again.
Much like back in the early stages of Modern Warfare 2, the sun is causing Warzone players a real issue, apparently, and there are calls to "nerf the sun" radiating from the vocal moaners, again.
"Nerf the sun" is the call from Call of Duty fans again
Call of Duty has taken great strides in making the game look much more realistic and sometimes even beautiful - bullets and gore aside - by implementing features like ray tracing for sunlight.
However, Warzone players are now calling for this to be toned down as it's affecting gameplay, with glare obstructing eyesight.
"I understand 'realism' but it should be considerably toned down for the sake of gameplay," one player said on Reddit, in a popularised post.
"There is this glare you can get when looking up in town, overlook, lighthouse, ground zero, etc," the Redditor pointed out with an accompanying picture of an opponent being eclipsed by the sun.
Warzone fans call for lighting adjustments in Season 3
With Season 3 not too far ahead in the future, arriving in around a month's time, players are now calling for some tweaks to the lighting to help with the verticality of the battle royale maps.
Another fan agreed, saying, "Dude, I've died a few times because I couldn't see the f***er because of this godray."
"Just move the sun somewhere else PLEASE!" they added, although it might be hard to pick up the ball of gas and reposition it...
With the addition of Rebirth Island and the very pinnacle-positioned Prison rooftop and guard towers, many players might begin to notice the lighting imbalances in Season 3, which might mark the best time for tweaks to come into play.
