The gas mechanic in Warzone is what brings competitors closer together and ultimately decides a winner by creating an enclosed endgame scenario.

However, it's very easy to get caught out of position by the tick damage if you started on a POI on the edge of the map, or spent a little too long fighting an opposing squad.

While sprinting to the safe zone is recommended in this situation, sometimes you simply do not have enough time.

Well, in Season 2 Reloaded, the devs are introducing the Portable Decontamination Station Field Upgrade that will keep you safe from toxic fumes.

Portable Decontamination Station Field Upgrade arrives in Warzone

Getting caught out by the gas should be a thing of the past on March 6, as the Portable Decontamination Station Field Upgrade is here.

This useful device emits a "cloud of chemicals that counteracts the corrosive effects of the circle gas," which temporarily creates a "safe zone" for all Operators inside.

Remember, though, the PDS is visible on the Tac map for your enemies to see as well, so nothing is stopping them from rushing your position.

For huge distances, you can even attach the PDS to your vehicle and clear the way, meaning travelling through the gas at speed will result in zero damage being taken from the fumes.

Some Warzone fans don't get the "point" of this tool

Not everyone is on board with this tool and doesn't understand the point of giving players the option to survive in the gas. For them, the aim of the game is to master your positioning and make sure you're accounting for the movement of the circle, so offering protection seems to contradict the rules of Battle Royale.

"Why do people need more ways to survive in the gas... The point is to not be in it at all." On top of this, there are concerns hackers could abuse this and stay alive in the gas infinitely - making it impossible for legit players to win.

Given the abundance of cheaters taking over Call of Duty at the moment, it seems like a valid concern, but we'll have to wait and see.
