Warzone 2.0 is finally in full swing after the period of fans giving it a go for the first time. Despite some growing pains, it has been a treat.

The game might still be a little buggy, but it's offset by the lack of cheaters that ruined the first game, and the fact that we have an all-new Warzone experience is exciting enough in itself to wash the problems away.

Even so, players are feeling a little wistful about their favourite Warzone playground, which is undoubtedly Verdansk. It looks like Warzone 2.0 knows where to pay its respects, as the game features a hidden homage to the map that started it all.

What Is Warzone 2's Verdansk Easter Egg?

As the OG Warzone map is no longer playable in the core battle royale - and fans are left without it - it looks like Warzone 2 has given fans a charming easter egg that winks at the original map.

One user in the CODWarzone subreddit, u/tiktokalnuke has pointed out that we actually get to see Verdansk in an unlikely place - on the arm of one of Warzone 2.0's operators.

On the arm of the original skin of operator Reyes is a portion of the map from Verdansk, which can be seen best in weapon inspection animations.

It's a charming little easter egg, but some are wondering if it's hinting at a role for Verdansk in Warzone 2.0 down the line.

Will Warzone 2.0 Bring Verdansk Back?

Let's be honest - it wouldn't be much of a surprise if the original map came back in some capacity for a throwback event. Activision loves money, so this would be one way to coin it.

There is nothing set in stone, but it would be a fascinating idea to see how Verdansk fares in the hands of Warzone 2.0. It's much like how Fortnite fans are calling for the return of the OG map.

Until that day, though, we'll get to know Al Mazrah a little better. And, if it stays as exciting as it has been so far, then we should be set for months to come.
