After extensive calls for the spawn systems to be fixed, Sledgehammer Games has finally obliged.

One of the major gripes of the recent Call of Duty era has been the adaptations of the spawning systems, and given how many times players kill or die in the fast-paced Vanguard instalment, the new "squad spawns" are more prominent than ever before, leading to harsh criticism.

However, Sledgehammer Games have made a habit of fixing their wrongdoings this year, and whilst Vanguard may now have already lost many of the fans that the title actually does deserve, the current player base is being rewarded with developer support like never before.

Sledgehammer Listen To Players To Fix Broken Spawns

Most recently, the spawn systems came under heavy criticism from the OpTic esports fan base and portions of the competitive and ranked communities, after their last-gasp Hardpoint pushes in a decisive CDL Major II match were thwarted by spawns that were 'unnatural' to the franchise's history.

Having cleared out the Florida Mutineers with a clean-sweep of kills on Gavutu, standard spawns would have placed the dead players on the opposite, and uncontested, side of the map. However, the Mutineers spawned pretty much on top of OpTic, where they were killed in the back and Florida won the tie to knock out the reigning champions.

Following on from the controversy of OpTic's defeat, Sledgehammer Games listened to the feedback to add a different spawn system into an experimental playlist, which has been well-received.

Now, after the positive feedback, the developers are adding this new system to Vanguard, and Treyarch has confirmed that the changes will also be worked into ranked and the CDL.

What is the new Vanguard spawn system?

Taking to social media, Sledgehammer revealed: "Between your feedback and the data we analyzed from the game, the spawn adjustments have proven beneficial. Today, we have implemented those spawn changes across Vanguard and they are now live!"

Recently, the developers adjusted the spawns on both Tuscan and Gavutu to allow more time for teams to adjust after getting kills, slightly slowing down the mayhem and chaos that ensues in high-skilled Vanguard lobbies.

However, Sledgehammer has yet to detail the exact movements of the new spawn logic, although they recently said that the experimental playlist will stop players "spawning in a position where an enemy player immediately threatens them."

Squad Spawns will still remain in Vanguard ranked and multiplayer following the update, however, these changes should result in players being able to spawn into their next life without being in immediate danger.
