The Archon Unveiled As Final Vanguard Zombies Map
Call of Duty: Vanguard's iteration of the zombies' storyline has unfortunately been severely underwhelming, considering Treyarch was added as a developer to help assist with their ongoing revelation of the game mode.
Having re-born the zombies' chronicles with their impressive catalogue of maps and game modes in Black Ops Cold War, many fans expected something of a similar token going into Vanguard.
However, it took six months for the first round-based map to be introduced, and by that time, fans had already forgotten that it was embedded into Vanguard. Nevertheless, Treyarch has plodded on, and now the second round-based map is on its way.
Treyarch Reveal The Archon Zombies Map
Shortly after the introduction of Shi No Numa remastered (the redesign of the popular four-laned World at War map), Treyarch revealed that another map is on the way to end the Vanguard era.
Taking to social media, the developers announced that The Archon will be coming to Vanguard soon.
"And yes, it's round-based," added Treyarch Studios, laying to rest any rumours that it will follow suit from their experimental Der Anfang project.
Vanguard The Archon Release Date
The Archon, which boasts no details except its name, is set to be released in Vanguard Season 5, which means it will be on our screens within a few weeks' time.
The fifth and final Season for Vanguard is set to kick off on August 26, which will bring three new guns to the game alongside a new horde of the undead.
The Archon will round off the four zombies maps in Vanguard, following on from Der Anfang, Terra Maledicta, and Shi No Numa.
While they might not stack up against some of the classics, at least Treyarch went out swinging. Quite befitting for a way to go out against a wave of undead flesh eaters, don't you think?
