Twitch Rivals are hosting a VALORANT launch showdown!
The VALORANT closed beta ends today, and the full launch of the game is set for June 2nd. To celebrate, Riot Games are hosting a Twitch Rivals global tournament with a $200k prize pool. Content creators and streamers will compete from each region to win a share of the $200,000 prize pool, as well as bragging rights as the first VALORANT victors. Regions include NA, Brazil, LATAM, Europe, Japan and Korea.
The VALORANT tournament is part of Twitch Summer Games Fest, which runs from May to August 2020.
This will be the first major prize pool tournament for VALORANT, following on from the ESPN Esports Invitational in April 2020, which saw teams from CS:GO, Apex Legends and even the developers of VALORANT themselves face off in the Closed Beta tournament.
We can't forget the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Invitational, which took place earlier in May 2020 and saw mouzSpaz take 3rd place, and become the TSM roster shortly after.
There will only be one winning team from each region, so stay tuned to Twitch and GGRecon for the latest updates on who gets the crown.
