It seems like an eternity by now, but it looks like Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies is finally shambling back to life.

The launch of Vanguard's Zombies mode was admittedly dire, offering next to no content built on a pre-existing multiplayer map, and giving an immensely disappointing experience overall. The love for Zombies has been on the decline ever since, and for a community that was once buzzing with excitement at every Easter egg and teaser, it's a huge disappointment.

But there is hope on the horizon, as Treyarch are looking to make up for past mistakes, revealing a new Vanguard Zombies map.

Vanguard Reveals New Zombies Map

In a thread of tweets, the official Treyarch Twitter account has revealed some new details about the mysterious new Zombies experience, titled "Terra Maledicta".

The thread reveals that the map will let you come for Von List and Kortifex in Egypt's Eastern Desert, which is littered with new gateways to the "Corrupted Lands" that will take you to a battle with Zaballa the Deceiver, one of Kortifex's Sisters of Agony.

Not only is the map set to include new bosses, blood-magic ceremonies, and new objectives, it's also bringing the classic Ray Gun back to the game, as well as introducing the brand new Decimator Shield.

The map looks promising, but players are right to be cautious - the let-down from the introduction of Zombies for Vanguard was huge, and there's a lot riding on this one map.

When Is Terra Maledicta Coming Out?

The promising new Zombies map will be joining the wealth of content coming to Call of Duty Vanguard in the launch of Season 2, which was initially pushed back, but we now have a solid date for it.

The season arrives in-game on February 14, so we've got a good four days to prepare for the new Zombies experience to land.

We're cautious but optimistic that this map could change the narrative on the game's Zombies mode. It's got a lot of work to do, but if it doesn't come through, then hype for Zombies could die completely. Yikes.
