Overwatch League team Toronto Defiant has brought some spice to the waiting period between playoffs and the Grand Finals starting on October 8. Everyone on the Defiant roster was tasked to bring five players of their choice to play the notorious GOATs composition with. The ten teams will play each other on September 27 for a $5,000 (~ Β£4,000) in a group stage into a single-elimination bracket tournament.

Some of the teams are looking stacked, recruiting some of the finest GOATs players of season 2 of the Overwatch League. The announced lineups are as follows:

Especially Joo-seong "RoKy" Park's roster sports incredible talent with both GOATs veterans and inventors in the team but also rookie firepower in Gil-seong "Glister" Lim and Seung-hyun "Lr1s" Kim.

The composition called GOATs named after the inventors of the composition who had pioneered it in the North American tier 2 scene had dominated three stages of competition in the second season of the Overwatch League. Consisting of Reinhardt, D.Va, Zarya, Brigitte, Zenyatta, and Lucio the combination had been almost exclusively played throughout season 2 until 2-2-2 role lock was introduced, making the composition no longer possible. During the era of this meta, the San Francisco Shock and the Vancouver Titans fought each other tooth and nail in the first two stage finals which many fans consider to be some of the best Overwatch ever played. The composition had also been heavily criticised for its prevalence and its lack of DPS heroes, moving the game into a more MOBA focused playstyle instead of an FPS.

You will be able to follow all the action on September 27 on Toronto Defiant's YouTube channel.
