As David Cánovas Martínez, aka TheGrefg, takes the world of Fortnite by storm, we look a little closer at what turned this promising YouTube star into an online sensation, Twitch giant, and even earned him his own exclusive skin in the hotly contested Icon Series of Epic Games' battle royale behemoth. 

As well as being known for his YouTube channel titled TheGrefg, he's made a name for himself as the co-owner of Team Heretics. Here's all you need to know about the Fortnite favourite.

TheGrefg was born on April 24, 1997. Martínez was born in Murcia, Spain. He is currently 23 years old.

WHAT GAMES DOES THEGREFG PLAY?

Back in the day, TheGrefg was known for playing Call of Duty; however, he quickly moved to Fortnite. In 2019, he won the second Fortnite Championship Stars Battle Royale with his Escuadrón Salchichón teammates Ampeterby7, Agustin51, and Vicens. He also earned the honour of having his own TheGrefg Fortnite skin as part of the Icon Series. It released in January 2021 and was part of TheGrefg's very own The Floor is Lava LTM. 

Over his career, TheGrefg has partnered with Kontrol Freek, G Fuel, and Burn Controllers Spain. In October 2020, he appeared as a mentor on the reality talent show called Top Gamers Academy. He's also published several books and can sometimes be seen streaming content based on Grand Theft Auto V

DOES GREFG HAVE HIS OWN FORTNITE SKIN?

TheGrefg has become known for his signature haircut and shocked fans when he shaved it off. When TheGrefg reached 12 million subscribers, he cut his hair and flew to Canada to give Luis "Fernanfloo" Alvarado his hair and make a collaboration. 

In January 2021, TheGrefg broke Twitch viewing records when he scored nearly 2.5 million live viewers on his channel. It was for the unveiling of his Fortnite skin and smashed PewDiePie's previous record for 635,000 in 2018.
