The Walking Dead has never been the most bright and beautiful production ever, but its recent collaboration with the Call of Duty universe is a bit... well... dead. As of Modern Warfare 3 Season 2, the gunslinging Rick Grimes and the katana-swinging Michonne will both be landing in CoD with their signature looks.

It's all as they tackle the undead lifeforms on a whole new scale. With their arrival imminent, fans of both franchises have made their initial reactions apparent, and the content is being slammed as "lazy" and "boring."

The Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 trailer confirmed that both Rick and Michonne will come as Operators in Season 2, with the leather jacket-donning and savvy brute coming with a revolver in hand, while a sword will be the weapon of choice for the dystopian heroine.

But leakers have now also revealed what's in store for the weapon blueprints and camos, leaving fans rather underwhelmed at the barbed wire-inspired designs. We know it was the iconic weapon of Negan in the comics and series, but he's not even an Operator.

As part of The Walking Dead event, players will unlock a universal camouflage, and the leaker page "CoDWarfareForum" has now shared the basic design on social media. It includes a flat design with paint mimicking the wire.

One popular comment said, "I appreciate what they were going for here but they didn’t execute it well," capturing the feeling of the community, as the lack of animation and reactivity underwhelms players.

A bunch of likeminded comments poured in, too, all criticising the camo. "A lot of these camos started off pretty good, but damn this looks like doo-doo,” a second player added. Others noted that this is just typical of the non-paid rewards, as this camo comes in the event rather than a bundle.

"They can make [reactive] blueprints… but for events, they make them boring as hell. Why is it just a brown colour with barbed wire that looks pasted on it?" a third fan said.

It seems like you aren't happy with anything that doesn't pop and shine. Still, The Walking Dead characters appear cool enough, and maybe the event will have some more rewards that make the XP grind worth the time.
