The Last of Us hype is back where it deserves to be... on top. The release of The Last of Us Part I has been massive, to say the least, with the iconic Naughty Dog title returning in a remarkable fashion with all-new visuals in tow.

The series is one of the PlayStation's most popular, as the game and its sequel stand as some of the greatest examples of the reaches that video games can make in telling a breathtaking and heartbreaking story. And now, fans have theorised what a third instalment to the series could look like in Unreal Engine 5.

What Is The Last Of Us Part 3?

Developed by Enfant Terrible, a new fan concept trailer of The Last Of Us Part 3 has been revealed on YouTube. It's just as visually remarkable as we'd expect a new The Last of Us game to be.

The video sees a lot of panning shots, showcasing a gorgeous and abandoned world left behind by the disasters of the game's narrative, with some of the series' dialogue overlaid.

It maintains the bleak and grey atmosphere as the original game, with the signature acoustic guitar playing throughout the trailer to make it feel truly authentic. Though we don't see any recognisable characters in the mock trailer, it still certainly feels like The Last of Us, and would be a believable submission to fans from Naughty Dog as a trailer for an upcoming game.

Enfant Terrible Imagines Games In Unreal Engine 5

The Last of Us isn't the only series that the YouTube channel has taken to revamping - in fact, they've rattled through a huge array of video games, film and TV, recreating all of them in Unreal Engine. Neil Druckmann has already spoken about a mythical The Last of Us Part 3, but we're not sure if it will ever see the light of day.

Their most popular video is a look at Red Dead Redemption 2 in the engine, as well as a potential Dune game and a new Tomb Raider game set in Egypt. This channel stands as a testament to what's possible in the engine - and also, what's possible for video games in general. Who knows if we'll get a third instalment to The Last of Us, but if it looks like this, we'll be in for a treat.
