In an era where we have already seen Fortnite put on some quite spectacular in-game events with Travis Scott and Arianna Grande, turning the arcade battle royale game into a world of music and melody, the latest craze of interactive islands has continued to produce some incredible crossovers.

And the latest collaboration is here.

The prestigious global celebration of video games known as The Game Awards is set to crown 2023's best titles and players, and now gamers will be able to interact with the show for the first time and enjoy some festivities in a rather indifferent way.

The Game Awards is coming to Fortnite as an in-game island, alongside a themed event within the title.

Co-developed by Nighttimes and Studio 568, "The Game Awards in Fortnite" island will be accessible to all players to enjoy the spectacle, where Fortnite could even come away with an award of its own.

The island is designed to allow players to celebrate The Game Awards and collect XP boosts in the form of collectable trophies.

There won't be a live showing of The Game Awards though, but rather will serve as a way for Fortnite players to actually cast votes for a brand-new category of award.

Geoff Keighley, Creator and Host of The Game Awards, said, "Ever since I hosted Live From Risky Reels in Fortnite in 2019, I’ve been thinking about ways The Game Awards could bring our celebration inside the games we play every day."

"Our Fortnite island is the first experiment in this direction, and I’m particularly excited to help shine the spotlight on the amazing user-generated community around the world."

Fortnite players can directly influence The Game Awards 2023

For the first time ever, gamers will be able to cast votes in-game for a certain award category.

Fortnite players will be able to vote for The Best Fortnite Island of the Year award, with the ten best creator islands being hand-picked by Epic and balloted to fans.

The voting for this award is now open and players can load into the world up until Wednesday, December 6 at 6pm PT to cast their vote.

The island with the most votes will be crowned champion both on the island and during The Game Awards on Thursday, December 7.

Fortnite is also nominated for the "Best Ongoing Game" award, alongside Apex Legends, Cyberpunk 2077, Genshin Impact, and Final Fantasy XIV, although you won't be able to influence this scoring.

The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite can be downloaded using this code: 0853-1358-8532.
