Star Wars: Hunters Delayed To 2023
There are a lot of Star Wars games on the release docket right now, but we're probably going to have to wait a while before we see any of them.
Of course, there's Respawn Entertainment's long-awaited sequel Jedi: Survivor, which still goes without a release date and can't be expected during the next year given the distance from development, and there's Star Wars: Eclipse, the new Quantic Dream experiment that isn't actually expected until later this decade despite its bold trailer release.
Star Wars games naturally need time to polish up and truly get to grips with its dense universe - but now, another game set in the galaxy far, far away has given fans a disappointing update.
Star Wars: Hunters Has Been Pushed Back
It has been revealed that Zynga's latest expedition into the Star Wars universe has now been pushed back, and that the game won't be releasing this year as hoped.
The game, set to launch on mobile and Switch has been in development for some time now, and it has been going through months of playtesting - but it seems that the game simply isn't done yet.
Revealing the news on Twitter, Zynga has appealed directly to fans.
"We are working tirelessly to achieve our vision for Star Wars Hunters," reads the statement. "Our ambition is to create a competitive battle arena game that will entertain for years to come. To ensure we meet the high expectations we are setting for fans globally and ourselves as developers, we have made the decision to delay the worldwide launch of Star Wars: Hunters."
But, all is not lost.
Star Wars: Hunters' Soft Launch Is Still Going Ahead
The game has been slowly rolling out in countries across the world as it continues to test, starting in India, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia in November last year, before gradually spreading across the world over the last eight months.
Who knows if the game will be reaching our shores before its official release, but for now, it looks like we're going to have to wait around for it despite its soft launch across the world. Sit tight, Star Wars fans - the games are coming as fast as they can.
