We can hear the Imperial March from here, as it's nearly time for the annual Star Wars Celebration. This yearly celebration of all things Wookiees and Wampas is the go-to event for Star Wars fans, and with announcements galore on the way, we're breathing more heavily than Darth Vader himself.

Instead of just celebrating on May 4, we're saying "may the Force be with you" for a whole weekend. Taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center from May 26-29, Star Wars Celebration is sure to pave the way for the future of Star Wars movies, shows, and video games. We can't think of a better way to reveal the long-rumoured Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

With rumours that Fallen Order 2 is on the way to Star Wars Celebration, the event is now caught in a tractor-beam of hype. Alongside a trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 or announcement of a Rise of the Skywalker sequel, news about Fallen Order 2 would undoubtedly be one of the event's biggest reveals. So, just imagine the rage if it's not there. If Fallen Order 2 doesn't appear at Star Wars Celebration 2022, fans will be angrier than charred Anakin on Mustafar.

Even if Fallen Order 2 does make its rumoured arrival at Star Wars Celebration, we don't know what we'll see. Whether it's a disappointing teaser trailer, lack of release date, or just generally underwhelming peek, there will always be those that aren't impressed with what Respawn Entertainment shows off. The dark side of toxic fandom is particularly poisonous when it comes to Star Wars, and although the OG Fallen Order was a triumph, there's a lot riding on a sequel.

Then again, revealing Fallen Order 2 at Star Wars Celebration could be the best thing to happen since the prequels phased out Jar Jar Binks. Remembering that there are continued claims that Fallen Order 2 could come out in 2022's already packed space of sci-fi spectacles, the game could (in theory) be very close to completion. If this is the case, there's no reason why Respawn can't pull out all the stops and deliver a glossy trailer akin to God of War Ragnarok's action-packed PlayStation Showcase of last September.

Going against the idea that Respawn is tinkering away on the last bits of Fallen Order 2, we've heard literally nothing official about what's on the way. Apart from some sketchy rumours it'll have a new title and include some major cameos - we're looking at you Obi-Wan Kenobi - fans are lost in a Kessel Run of speculation. It's interesting that Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi is due out on May 25, and with it being set in the same period of history as Fallen Order, some speculate Cameron Monaghan could reprise his role as Kal Cestis in live-action. After the cancellation of EA Play Live, we could use some good news.

Either way, the expanding galaxy of Star Wars canon surely means Fallen Order 2 will be woven into this Star Wars renaissance more than its predecessor. We were previously told E3 2022 was one to watch for Fallen Order 2, but if we're lucky, things have moved forward to make Star Wars Celebration. We'd like to hope Star Wars Jedi is a saber-swinging hit of Star Wars Celebration, but if the sequel trilogy has taught us anything, it's that franchise fandom likes to let the hate flow more than Emperor Palpatine.
