According to GGRecon’s sources, South Korean flex DPS Seung-woo "FEATH5R" Lee has signed with the New York Excelsior. The 18-year-old joins from Talon Esports for which he played since March 2020.

Previously, the player has been part of Seoul Dynasty’s academy team Gen.B as well as Korean Contenders team BATTLICA. Our sources shared that other teams were also interested in the young player, though he ended up deciding in favour of the NYXL.

The New York Excelsior finished in seventh place in the overall standings and third in the Asian division during the regular season of the 2020 Overwatch League. The team fell short of qualifying for the Grand Finals week due to 3-0 loss against the Seoul Dynasty in the lower bracket finals of the Asian division. In previous seasons, the NYXL had been one of Overwatch League's most dominant teams, finishing first and third respectively in the 2018 and 2019 regular seasons.

The contract status for the four remaining players on the NYXL is unknown, with the contracts of Jong-ryeol "Saebyeolbe" Park, Hae-Seong “Libero” Kim, Tae-Sung “Anamo” Jung, and Seong-Hyun “Jjonak” Bang having expired on November 13, with no additional news regarding a re-signing of them yet announced by the team. Therefore several roster announcements are expected for the Excelsior in the next couple of weeks.

GGRecon has reached out for comment. An Andbox spokesperson has shared the following: "We don't have any news to share at this time regarding our roster, but we're working hard to put together a team that our fans will be excited about next season. We look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks and months."

GGRecon will continue to report on roster moves throughout the Overwatch League off-season. Stay up to date with all the latest esports and gaming news by checking out our social channels here: Twitter | Facebook | Discord
