These ARE the mods you're looking for. While The Elder Scrolls mods are a dime a dozen, modders are still coming up with imaginative ways to get us clicking some 10 years after Skyrim was first released. Although there's the Anniversary Edition (complete with fishing) on the way, the unofficial community continues to add its own spin to Skyrim

Only recently, we've covered impressive mods that add Witchers as a playable race, allow you to take an army of companions, or even stick a laugh track on your game to turn it into a comedic sitcom. For those of you who love the galaxy far, far away, the latest mod turns Tamriel into Hoth.

What is the Star Wars Skyrim mod?

Unfortunately, you won't be able to travel around this fantasy realm in a Millennium Falcon or blow up your own Death Star-inspired Dragonsreach. Instead, a mod from Mihail adds 132 new creatures to the game. Werebears, Snow Whales, and Minotaurs are all well and good, but one creature stuck out more than most - Wampas.

Heading back to 1980, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is the much-loved second chapter in the sprawling Skywalker Saga. Giving us some of the most iconic scenes to grace the franchise - if not cinema - the action went everywhere from Dagobah to Cloud City, Hoth and beyond. While on the icy planet of Hoth, Luke Skywalker found himself imprisoned by a yeti-like Wampa. The young Jedi got the best of the Wampa and promptly dispatched it with his lightsaber.

This isn't the only time we've seen Wampa's in Skyrim. If you head to Bleakcoast Cove, there's a neat Empire Easter egg with a skeleton hanging from the ceiling. In this world, it doesn't look like Luke Skywalker escaped his icy predicament. Now, you can reenact it with actual Wampas in-game.

How can you get the Skyrim Wampa mod?

Mihail Nexus Mods

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a Wampa slayer, Mihail's Monsters and Animals Mod is available from Nexus Mods. Even though it's currently only for Skyrim Legacy Edition, Mihail is planning a release for Skyrim Special Edition. Alongside Wampas, the mod adds 132 new creatures, 35 new areas, 22 weapons, 11 spells, and 41 new ingredients.

The description reads, "Official pack of Mihail's High Fantasy themed creations. Turn Skyrim into a magical world, filled with ancient mysteries and exciting challenges, populated by everything from raging Minotaurs to mischievous Goblins, ancient Woodland Spirits to venomous living Slimes." Here's hoping we'll get official Wampas in The Elder Scrolls 6.

If this wasn't enough, Mihail has also teased the future release of the Dark Fantasy Pack. This will apparently include creatures more connected to dark fantasy (well duh). However, there's no release date. Mihail promises that their mods are "lore-friendly", so when you're ready, get downloading.
