Sometimes, things can get a bit lonely out there in Tamriel. While the wide world of The Elder Scrolls is full to bursting with NPCs and creatures that range from rogue werewolves to unwanted wedding guests, Aludin the World-Eater to flying horses, the journey of the Dragonborn is largely a solitary one.

There are companions to help your quest, but even then, it's clear the Dragonborn is largely outnumbered in their endeavours. Thankfully, a new Skyrim mod lets you take a whole army of followers into battle. Everyone has their favourite, and whether you're partial to Serana or J'zargo, wouldn't you love to take multiple companions with you?

How can you add multiple followers to Skyrim?

We've seen a lot of Skyrim mods over the past decade of Bethesda's blockbuster, but after all these years, it's rare we find one that piques our interest like this. Apart from the odd workaround, we're usually limited to just one follower at a time. Thanks to Netherworks’ Follower Framework mod, you can create a truly customisable army of 10 at once.

Being "resource-friendly and script-engine light", the Follow Framework mod is designed to be compatible with other Skrim mods and just about any follower out there in Skyrim. Whether you want a mix of different races or an army of 10 dogs, this pick n mix mod lets you do it all. Better yet, you can import custom followers and use them. Does anyone fancy building the X-Men in Skyrim

What else does the Follower Framework mod add?

According to Nethwerworks, this "robust" MCM menu allows players to change options across everything from sandboxing to mount and riding support, movement to combat, and more. You don't have to keep your companions with you at all times though.

With the ability to manage up to ten home bases, your dismissed followers will head back there when you don't need them. Impressively, your followers can be assigned roles like healer or tank, as well as one of ten combat styles. It's far more in-depth than you can imagine, with the mod also giving the option to reduce infighting within your group.

Basically, each follower becomes a fully-rounded companion in Skyrim. You can alter their morality, learn skills off them like a classic NPC, and in turn, teach them abilities too. The Follower Framework is available for both the Special Edition and base version of Skyrim. Just when you thought a mod that would finally let you pet dogs was the best Skyrim had to offer, what about 10 pettable dogs that are your loyal pack?
