With each month, PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to three free games, and heading into the shortest month of the year it appears Sony has decided that players should be gifted with a little extra spice.

The developers revealed that Control Ultimate Edition (PS5, PS4), Concrete Genie (PS4), and Destruction AllStars (PS5) will all feature in the line-up which is being described as the best cast to be released to date.

However, for some select gamers, the surprises don't stop there, as a secret fourth game has been added to the selection: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The Metroidvania exploration-focused title is the sequel of its series but boasts rustic and retro-styled gameplay set in 18th Century England. Acting as a swordsman, players will set off in hunt of demonically-charged crystals for alchemy purposes, resulting in an entertaining addition to an already jampacked collection of free games.

The catch is that only PlayStation Plus subscribers in Japan will be granted access.

Before the disgruntled get their knickers in a twist, it appears that this inclusion because one of the titles in the original three games is only available on PS5 in Japan, whereas in North America and Europe it can be accessed on PS4 too. Control Ultimate Edition was brought out in Japan as a PS5 exclusive, and with a shortage of next-generation consoles worldwide, very few players have gotten their hands on it in the region.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night comes in as a buffer for the Japanese gamers, allowing them to reap the full rewards of the subscription.

With just 28 days to give these titles a valid test, you'd best get comfy in your gaming chairs; there'll be a few sleepless nights.
