It's always exciting when veterans of the game industry get together to form a new studio, as it typically means ambitious projects are on the way.

That's certainly the case with the newly announced Starlight Games studio, which is comprised of former Psygnosis, Wipeout, Skate, and Horizon: Call of the Mountain developers.

The team is hard at work on multiple titles, and luckily, one of its games is even arriving in the summer of 2024.

Starlight Games is a brand-new Liverpool-based studio comprised of industry vets, including Gary Nichols, Nick Burcombe, Andy Santos, and Ben Cronin.

With a focus on developing new IPs that emphasise innovative gameplay and visually stunning graphics, all made in Unreal Engine 5, this is a team to keep an eye on.

In terms of projects, Starlight is developing an exciting futuristic sports title and a strategy sci-fi roguelite that will both be revealed soon.

In addition, the group also has several Unreal Engine Fortnite experiences, the first of which will launch at the end of April 2024. Finally, and perhaps the most exciting news, is House of Golf 2, the game that Starlight will release next.

House of Golf 2 is the sequel to the original HoG released on Nintendo Switch back in 2019, but this time the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, so expect top-tier visuals.

Not only that, HoG 2 is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X, meaning more people than ever will have access to the title.

In terms of a release date, Starlight Games has announced House of Golf 2 will be coming in the Summer of 2024, so we won't have to wait very long.

With so many layoffs hitting the games industry, a new studio popping up is always going to be exciting - let's hope Starlight can deliver.
