It's a firm favourite of the family games night, but now, the classic Clue has been given a revamp for 2023. Yes, Colonel Mustard just got sexy.

First released in 1943, this murder mystery board game has become a staple of Britain (where it's known as Cluedo) and beyond. It's not just remembered for the 1985 film, but more recently, getting a nod from Daniel Craig's Benoit Blanc in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

What Is The New Version Of Clue?

Moving with the times, Hasbro has released a new version of Clue that brings the game roaring into 2023. All your old favourites are here, but safe to say, this is a very different Colonel Mustard whipping out his lead pipe.

Over on Twitter, fans are going wild for these new additions, especially the usually frumpy Mrs. White being overhauled for Chef White. There's supposedly a new Clue TV series and a movie in development, and if we're casting Chef White, someone should get Ruby Rose on the phone.

One randy gamer wrote, "Chef White stole my hairdo. But that's okay. She can still step on me," while another added, "Chef White, in the bedroom, accidental asphyxiation. (I'm the victim)."

It's not just Chef White though, with each of these new faces finding their following on social media. "I guess there’s a new hot grandpa in town," said someone about Colonel Mustard. Another concluded, "Did they change the name to Welcome to F**k Mansion."

Where's Our Live-Action Clue?

With all the popularity of Mr. Blanc and the continued franchise of Kenneth Branagh Playing Poirot, you might think we're well-timed for a live-action Clue.

Funny you should ask because there are supposedly several in the works. In 2008, universal announced a movie that originally had Pirates of the Caribbean's Gore Verbinski attached. This then moved over to 20th Century, and at one point, Ryan Reynolds was supposed to star.

Sadly, there's been no update on a Clue movie since 2020. Fox Entertainment greenlit an animated Clue series in 2021, but with that also going quiet, we're no closer to anyone being bashed on the head with a candlestick.
