Though the Wizarding World was designed with whimsy in mind, that certainly doesn't mean that fans won't latch onto the darker side of it.

Fans of the world of Harry Potter have proven time and time again that they'll sway to being a baddie if they're given half the opportunity, finding their kin in Slytherin, and now with Hogwarts Legacy, wasting no time in finding the spells and curses that dish out the most damage.

It's no surprise, given how many Harry Potter fans sway even without the opportunity to be a part of the Hogwarts yearbook - but now that they have, they're using the opportunity for their nefarious purposes. And as it turns out, that includes killing cats in the street. You guys need to be put in time-out.

Hogwarts Legacy Players Are Torturing Cats

Though there's no shortage of nasties for players to practice their spells and curses on, it looks like some players are getting sick of the norm, and are now turning to… killing innocent creatures in the street.

A new video as shared by YouTube creator Mr Moose has proven that you can really give innocent cats hell, as the player performs Levioso on a stray cat to force it to hover in the air, before casting Expelliarmus on it, pinging it under a public bench where it stays, unmoving. Good lord.

An NPC calls the player up on their "wand etiquette," though we're much more concerned about the actual dead cat.

This means that, in theory, players can just blast innocent pets with the killing curse itself with no repercussions. And here we were thinking that murder was bad.

The Killing Curse Is Incredibly Far Into Hogwarts Legacy

You could blast cats with Avada Kedavra, of course, but you might not be able to do it from the first moment, as the killing curse takes some time to learn.

If you want to learn the spell, you have to complete the final quest for Sebastian, but you'll only be able to manage that once you've passed at least level 28.

You'll get to this level pretty far into your playthrough, so don't expect you can just show up to Hogwarts and kill everything that stands in your way. And definitely don't expect to be killing cats. Because that would make you a d**k. And we don't want that.
