Whatever you think of Fortnite's current season, there's no denying that it looks like a brighter future is ahead of us. While the concept of a Mad Max-themed wasteland that swapped guns for high-octane chases sounded great, it was soon lost under a fog of OP vehicles, Pirates of the Caribbean crossovers, and those Magneto Gloves.
With complaints that Fortnite is struggling to find itself in Chapter 5, Season 3 did little to prove critics otherwise. If you thought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles season dragged on, some have been trying to send "Wrecked" to the scrap heap as soon as Epic put the pedal to the metal. Still, to call it Fortnite's 'worst' season seems a little extreme.
Ninja brands Chapter 5 Season 3 Fortnite's 'worst' season
Among the haters is Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, with Fortnite's blue-haired beau making his feelings clear about Chapter 5 Season 3. Although it feels like clout farming, his latest video is titled "Goodbye to the worst Fortnite season." He doesn't really explain what's wrong, and instead, gets his butt handed to him in Reload.
Others on Reddit shared the sentiment that Ninja might be taking his hate to new extremes, with u/PressYapper4294 reminding us that if Epic had left things as they were in Chapter 1, Fortnite would've died years ago. We echo this, and while the nostalgia of Reload is fun for a while, it reminds us how far we've come.
There was still plenty of support for Ninja, with everything from complaints about a 'boring' Battle Pass to an overreliance on the likes of Nitro Fists being thrown into the ring. It's true that Epic has struggled to find the right balance with its cars, and while it looks like vehicular mods could be shown the door, we're sure a new meta will arrive for you to complain about.
One grumpy gamer wrote, "Definitely the worst season I have played. I deadass started playing Minecraft again cus of it but this is coming from a player who hasn’t enjoyed this entire chapter so far. New Marvel season that is coming up is promising tho."
Another added, "It just didn't feel like Fortnite at all to me. And all the stuff I loved about Fortnite has been taken away and replaced by spending 90% of the game in a car, and using OP mythics," and a third said, "It wasn't the worst season, it wasn't the best season, it was mid not bad OG reload saved this season tbh nothing else."
A separate thread thanked car mods for adding something different to the sometimes stagnant Fortnite experience, and it was here that the Magneto Gloves reared their head. Someone said, "I’m gonna miss the bulletproof tires but everything else can go f**k themselves."
Another chimed in, "'These car mods are annoying' -Magneto powers show up. 'Ok, maybe they aren't that bad,'" and a third concluded, "I loved the cars. My real hate was on the Magneto gloves. The new season looks like it'll be more superpower glove fights and less gunfights."
Some weird and wonderful Marvel Mythics look like they're coming to Chapter 5 Season 4, and with the likes of Black Panther claws, Captain America's shield, and Iron Man gauntlets, it won't be long until there's a new OP ability for you all to moan about.
