New Overwatch Glitch Is Making D.Va Worse Than Before
Poor old D.Va, she really can't catch a break. Whether she's being nerfed by Blizzard or bizarrely transforming into doors, the tank is having a torrid time as of late, and a new glitch has rendered her worse than ever.
D.Va currently has one of the best defensive abilities throughout Overwatch, which made her one of the most picked heroes in the game. Her Defense Matrix has the capacity to swallow an enemy's ultimate after minutes of them building it up.
However, a new glitch has surfaced which makes the Defense Matrix utterly useless.
The Defense Matrix should absorb any ability caught within its beam, even if it enters for a mere frame. But when Reddit user u/Thorbjorn checked the replay of his gameplay with the tank, the beam lags between each camera. This means that while you think you are aiming directly at an ability (which can take snapshot reactions) your DM beam may be lagging behind looking elsewhere.
As you can see from this image, the DM beam is directly above the two enemy players.
However, from the third-person camera (below), you can see that while D.Va's head has tilted toward the enemies, the beam was off-centre, resulting in the Defense Matrix failing.
You can also see from the captured screenshot that the enemy Zarya, Reinhardt, and Ana had their abilities ready to go, meaning should the D.Va ability be aiming where it should have been, such as on the first-person camera, the abilities would have been wiped and the countdown would have restarted.
As D.Va's Defence Matrix is one of the best abilities in Overwatch, this glitch makes her much harder to use and involves a lot of guessing, which makes D.Va a rather reluctant choice. So far, the DM has faced no problems, but as the game continues to descend in quality, this glitch may be one of the worst ones we have faced yet.
Blizzard has not made an announcement regarding the bug, however, they must be looking at fixing this, especially with the Overwatch League 2020 Playoffs in the pipeline for October 8.
