Fans have been curious (if a little wary) about Naughty Dog's intentions to stray into multiplayer games. The developer isn't just the team behind The Last of Us, and has worked on myriad games in differing genres over the years.

Still, it's safe to say that Naughty Dog's greatest moments are from its single-player offerings, the thing it's been focussed on for some time now.

As a result, fans are concerned that the upcoming multiplayer offering as a new Factions game could be a significant step down in quality. But, it looks like the company is doubling down on its multiplayer efforts.

Is Naughty Dog Working On More Multiplayer Games?

New job listings suggest that Naughty Dog's efforts to enter the multiplayer realm might extend beyond Factions.

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted that The Last of Us team is hiring for a new Associate Multiplayer Quality Assurance Tester/ Development Support, and the listing asks for someone who will be working on "multiplayer titles." Interesting use of plurals, there.

Fans have taken this to mean that Naughty Dog is on top of another multiplayer project already - either that or it's trying to future-proof Factions, meaning that we'll get more content for the game post-launch.

If there are more multiplayer games on the way, who knows what they could be? The developer is seemingly done with Uncharted, so don't expect a Nathan Drake-inspired Factions. Before you get too excited, there's something in the way.

Naughty Dog Is Hiring For A 'Temporary Engagement'

The job role might imply something exciting for the future of Naughty Dog's multiplayer games, but the position application mentions that it is for "a temporary engagement through our staffing partner DZconneX."

With this in mind, the successful candidate could be assigned to work on Factions alone, without any focus on the future of multiplayer games for the company. There are also sure to be grumbles about a push into multiplayer when we're dying for more information on a mythical The Last of Us Part 3

Whatever it means, it's irrelevant because we know that Naughty Dog is committed to bringing to life a solid multiplayer game. No matter what, we're keen on that regardless.
