It's fair to say that Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are in a rough spot when it comes to cheaters running rampant in matches. While they've always been a problem, there seems to have been an uptick in the amount of bad actors recently.

Although it was rumoured that the anti-cheat was switched off temporarily a few weeks ago, this was denied by the devs who instead revealed that over 6,000 hackers had been banned.

Well, new information from a cheating software Discord server suggests third-party software can now completely hide itself from RICOCHET.

MW3 cheaters now have the tools to hide from RICOCHET

As showcased by Zachdubs on Twitter, RICOCHET seems to take screenshots of cheaters in-game when they've been reported enough times in preparation for a ban.

According to reports from these cheating Discords, the hacks can now temporarily disable the third-party software just before a screenshot is taken.

This clearing of screenshots effectively allows the hackers to go under the radar and receive no punishments for a long time. It demonstrates how advanced cheats are becoming and suggests that Call of Duty is behind the curve when it comes to detection in Season 2.

The hacking problem has become so prevalent in multiplayer that the community are even calling for a "kernel level" anti-cheat.

Introducing this would open up a whole new can of worms, as kernel software is considered invasive by some players and requires a lot of permissions on every competitor's PC.

One supporter said, "Kernel-level anti-cheat might be the only way to save this game on PC but of course that comes with security risks." Luke "Metaphor" Canning joked, "Just give us the most invasive anti cheat of all time plz."

With the situation seemingly getting worse by the day, you have to imagine the devs are going to have to upgrade RICOCHET very soon. Otherwise, they risk losing a lot of players to other FPS titles.
