It's fair to say, Call of Duty has certainly raised its bar in the last few years regarding cosmetics and the quality of its designs. Multiple collaborations with 21 Savage, The Boys, Spawn and even Diablo IV were all received extremely well.
However, a recent mythic weapon from CoD Mobile has left a lot of PC and console fans starstruck and lost for words, with the camo featuring unbelievably impressive effects. This has sparked outrage over why the devs cannot deliver the same weapon skin quality to MW3 and Warzone.
MW3 fans want Mythic CoD Mobile weapon on PC & console
As showcased by the popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL, there's a brand-new mythic tier weapon in CoD Mobile, and it looks incredible.
The "transformer" skin effectively allows the gun to change into a handheld laser cannon, before shapeshifting back into its original futuristic form. The purple design looks absolutely amazing and seems like something you'd find in a Halo game.
This mythic cosmetic has quickly spread around the console and PC community, who can't believe how much better guns look in CoD Mobile. For them, it's a sign that Sledgehammer and Activision need to step up their game in MW3.
"CoD mobile is the best CoD out nowadays…from guns to maps they have it all," said one user, with another arguing, "I mean I’m glad we got Mastercrafts back and are potentially going in the right direction but holy f**k are we behind."
CoD Mobile fans respond by saying the store is "greedy"
Despite the outcry from PC and console players, CoD Mobile fans were quick to point out that the grass isn't greener on the other side of the franchise.
While the cosmetics are undeniably brilliant, the eye-watering prices often mean the majority of the playerbase can't afford to buy them from the "greedy" store.
"Their store policy is greedy and gambling tier, these bundles of cool operators and shiny guns are inside loot boxes... you might have to spend 1000 euros before you get that," said one user, with another claiming, "You forgot to mention it costs $250, paying that much it better be special looking."
So, while CoD Mobile may have higher-tier cosmetics, you have to be willing to pay astronomical prices to get them. On console and PC, there would likely be a massive backlash if Activision ever tried to charge $200 for a skin.
