Nadji Jeter is reprising his role as the heroic Miles Morales for Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Although it's not quite the full-blown Spider-Man sequel players were waiting for, Miles Morales brilliantly continues the story and will hopefully tide us over until the inevitable Spider-Man 2.

2018's first game gave Peter Parker the video game outing he finally deserved with an open world juggernaut. It's much of the same this time around, but with just enough that's different, Miles Morales gets his own rightful time to shine.

As well as toppling the all-star rogue's gallery of the Sinister Six, Spider-Man ended on a major cliffhanger that set itself up for the future. Some of these plot threads will be picked up in Miles Morales, while Insomniac is keeping others back for a later date. Despite the game's junior hero and junior size, don't worry, there are still plenty of missions to grind through, skills to unlock, and trophies to find in Spider-Man: Miles Morales

In Miles Morales, the titular hero is cast out into the cold New York City winter on his own and forced to pick up the mantle of Spider-Man while Peter Parker is dealing with his own problems. As well as taking on some familiar faces from the Sinister Six, Miles finds himself in the middle of a war between the shady Roxxon Energy Corporation and the villainous Tinkerer - with his gang of thugs known as the Underground.

If Miles being bothered by brutes wasn't enough, he also has the teenage angst of his mother running for City Council AND coming to terms with his new-found powers. 2018's "The City That Never Sleeps" DLC ended with Miles being bitten by a radioactive spider and gaining powers similar to Peter Parker. Although Peter will be on hand for the game's training wheels segments, the core of Miles Morales obviously focuses on him.

When it comes to Miles Morales, several mission names give away some of the storylines, so turn back now if you don't want it to be spoiled:

  1. Hold Onto Your Web-Shooters
  2. Parting Gift
  3. New Thwip
  4. We’re Here For You
  5. La Nochebuena
  6. Reconnecting
  7. Time to Rally
  8. Someone Left the Lights On
  9. Corporate Espionage
  10. Underground Undercover
  11. Curtain Call
  12. Breaking Through the Noise
  13. Tinker Tailor Spider Spy
  14. Thicker Than Blood
  15. Like Real Scientists
  16. The Battle For Harlem

There are technically 17 missions in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but the main mission list doesn't count "Harlem Train Out Of Service". Despite this, you need to complete it to gain access to the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app and continue the story, so we'll add it to the list.

The 16 main Miles Morales missions lead to a thrilling conclusion that definitely tees up Spider-Man 2 and what we assume will put Miles as second billing alongside Peter Parker. At least fans know Miles will finally be able to compete in his own missions instead of just tip-toeing around without any powers.

You can box off the main story in around 8-10 hours, but if you want to unlock every trophy and explore every corner with Spider-Cat, it will obviously take you a lot longer. So, suit up, prepare your Web-Shooters, and make the most of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
