It's hard to imagine that anybody could foresee just how extensive Fortnite's LEGO mode could be. Leaks indicated that the collaboration between the entertainment giants would earn its own dedicated mode, and this raised eyebrows.

Still, Fortnite collided with one of the world's favourite toy brands to create a Don't Starve x Minecraft crossover where Cuddle Team Leader won't leave you alone, and you have to fight skeletons. It wasn't on anybody's bingo card, but we've barely been able to keep ourselves from building our own villages since.

Much like Minecraft, we should've been able to predict the creativity of the game's players, although that hasn't stopped us from being surprised. Now, one blocky builder has taken us all the way to Middle-earth.

LEGO Fortnite player recreates Helm's Deep

One Fortnite player has impressed the gaming and fantasy worlds in one fell swoop and has managed to recreate the entirety of Helm's Deep in LEGO Fortnite.

The build was created by Reddit user CrowedPepper, who has shared an outside look at the huge snaking walls and towers of the location from the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series. Its scale is incredibly impressive, to such a degree that the creator has to build a huge tower of stairs to so much as view it in all of its glory.

Fans have rallied to their posts in the LEGOFortnite subreddit, praising the dedication to recreate such a huge landmark from Middle-earth - but it doesn't end there, as they've also created one of the most iconic buildings from the series too.

CrownedPepper creates Barad-Dur in LEGO Fortnite

Along with the fortified gorge of Helm's Deep, the creator has also dedicated to building another iconic landmark from the fantasy series - Barad-Dur. The terrifying and steep tower occupied by the Eye of Sauron is iconic in the franchise, and it's just as iconic here.

The builder has wowed players everywhere, and their work stands as a testimony to the incredible creativity that can be tapped into using LEGO Fortnite. With the OP vowing to keep building, expect to see more of their impressive The Lord of the Rings builds in the near future.

It seemed that Fortnite wanted the LEGO mode to be a platform for excitement at launch instead of a game in its own right - and this is evidence that the play has worked. Now, if Fortnite could add some Hobbit skins to the game, that'd be great.
