The blood keeps on flowing, as the Dead by Daylight Game Director has just teased another collaboration with Resident Evil. Following the success of Resi staples Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine being stalked around the Raccoon City Police Department by Nemis, DBD is ready to open a new "umbrella" of opportunities.

While Capcom's zombie shooter has been shuffling around since 1996, Dead by Daylight slashed its way onto the scene in 2016. If you're unfamiliar, Dead By Daylight is a one versus four multiplayer where you play either a Survivor or a Killer.

Although original characters like Wraith and Claudette are the most popular, Dead By Daylight has crossed over with everything from Scream to The Texas Chainsaw MassacreA Nightmare on Elm Street to Stranger Things. With the Resident Evil crossover being a huge hit, it's no surprise Behaviour Interactive has teased a return to Raccoon City.

Is Lady Dimitrescu coming to Dead by Daylight?

Discussing the success of the Resiverse infecting its way into Dead by Daylight lore, Game Director Mathieu Côté told Shacknews, "We had a few conversations like, 'Oh maybe this character or maybe this maybe that', and it led to some super interesting creative talks that may or may not lead to things you will learn about later". It's not quite a confirmation that a Resident Evil Dead By Daylight sequel is in the works, but it's pretty damn close.

Explaining how he settled on the trio of Jill, Leon, and Nemesis, Côté added, "Leon and Jill and Nemesis, we thought they were the classics. Not necessarily original or the best ones, [but] we knew that they were great representatives of what Resident Evil is, and they're probably the ones that pop into most people's minds when you talk about these characters".

When the site said, "I think people were disappointed that it wasn't Lady Dimitrescu", the topic of conversation then turned to whether she could arrive as a DLC skin. Côté quickly brushed it off and concluded, "No, no thank you next question. I will not answer that question".

When could Lady Dimitrescu come to Dead by Daylight?

Considering Lady Dimitrescu hasn't even been confirmed yet, it's foolish to try and speculate about when she could arrive. Then again, there are still a fair few months of 2021 left. Fans will know this year marks 25 years since we first stepped inside the Spencer Mansion for Resident Evil, and while one Dead By Daylight crossover was enough to celebrate the milestone, we're sure players would love another.

Added to this, there's still a lot planned for Resident Evil Village. Although details are thin on the ground, Capcom's underwhelming E3 showcase confirmed some form of Resident Evil Village DLC is on the way this year. There's a sense that we've only scratched the surface of both worlds, meaning a lucrative partnership between Behaviour and Capcom could be on the cards.

Even if another Dead by Daylight crossover isn't official yet, there's no escaping the fact that the game is bigger than ever. Add to this the resurgence in Resident Evil popularity since 2017's Resident Evil 7 and the various remakes of the early games, and we're onto a winner. Come on Lady D, pop out those claws and dust off a bottle of Sanguis Virginis.
