The new season of Fortnite has arrived, and damn, is it a treat so far. The game is floating some different ideas, with new types of chests, new weapons (we love you, Shockwave Hammer), and a whole new setting for Epic Games' creativity.

The variety spread across the new smaller island is incredibly impressive, but one thing stands out. As Fortnite is now officially the first game to utilise the features packed into Unreal Engine 5.1, the game truly looks better than ever by a wide margin.

This battle royale favourite has added ray tracing, huge framerates, and brand-new particle effects that look truly gorgeous. And one new post has exemplified just how far the title has come.

Fortnite Fans Share Their Love Of Fortnite's New Look

Taking to the Fortnite subreddit, players have been sharing just how much the game has changed over the years. Visaully speaking, they practically look like different games.

One post, in particular, has a lot of fans reminiscing. It shares a look at the game during its first chapter, and one at Fortnite as it stands right now. They're quite right, too, as the difference is massive.

The game has clearly undergone a lot of change, from design philosophy to UI, to engine. It's pretty amazing to see the Fortnite that roped players in so effortlessly has come so far. It's almost enough to bring a tear to your eye.

Fans React To Fortnite's Visual Comparison

Fans have taken to the post's comments to share how they feel about the new and improved Fortnite - and finally jump into specifics of what role ray tracing plays in bringing the visuals of Fortnite together.

"They actually had raytracing for like 2 years now, it's just that now it's actually doing all the work it’s supposed to be doing instead of just a small fraction like before where it was pretty much just reflections," clarifies one comment.

"I think Ray tracing has been in the game for a couple years now. But who cares about specifics, the game looks like a dream!" says another.

It's great to reflect and see how far Fortnite has come, especially as it looks leagues better now than it did a few years ago. Aw, they grow up so fast.
