Hogwarts Legacy grows ever closer, and with every step we take towards it, fans seem to be getting more and more excited.

Set in the Wizarding World, Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most hyped upcoming games right now, and it looks as though it could be the adventure across Hogwarts and beyond that players have been begging for since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on the original PlayStation. The world is rife with intrigue, and it's a surprise that a game like this hasn't come along sooner - but we're glad to see it either way.

And, as fans are getting their pre-orders in, it has been revealed that those taking to Hogwarts on PlayStation will be getting a little something extra.

Hogwarts Legacy Is Getting A PS-Exclusive Mission

September 13's State of Play conference from PlayStation had plenty to reveal, from the Western debut of a Yakuza spin-off to a new story trailer for God of War: Ragnarok - but along with it came a new look at Hogwarts Legacy, with the player character exploring Hogsmeade and the shops it hides.

The mission sees players venture into the shop's basement and duck from twister mannequins coming to life and chasing them. We didn't know Hogwarts Legacy was going to be a horror game, but we're reminded of the recent GTA Online mission from the Criminal Enterprises update.

As the video draws to its close, it is revealed that the mission itself will be exclusive to the PlayStation version of the game. It's an interesting way to incentivise picking up the game, but damn, do we want to bolt away from some haunted mannequins.

When Is The Hogwarts Legacy Release Date?

The Wizarding World adventure has had a rocky announcement period, and since the first reveal, it has been pushed back significantly. Hogwarts Legacy was supposed to be one of 2022's big games, but alongside The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it'll be duking it out in 2023.

Hogwarts Legacy is now set to launch on February 10, 2023, so we're going to have to hold off until the new year kicks off - but here's hoping that it's worth it. There's a lot riding on this, and after a disappointing Collector's Edition, we're going to need more than a PlayStation-exclusive mission to win critics around.
