You probably don’t need us to tell you, but if you thought Fortnite was a “dead game,” you were dead wrong.

Call it pure nostalgia bait if you like, but there’s little that can be done to deny those numbers. Fortnite has reached a brand new player height, soaring above its previously recorded peak and proving that the game’s still got it. Even if it has to pretend to be older than it is.

Even so, while fans are getting stuck into the map they know and love so dearly, there are others that didn’t live through the era that the OG season is aiming to replicate, and they’re already looking to the future.

Luckily, though, it looks like the future is already here.

Fortnite’s Chapter 5 map has supposedly leaked

According to the reputable Fortnite leaker Shiina, it looks as though we’ve finally got our first look at the map of the long-awaited Chapter 5.

The map has been shared to the leaker’s Twitter page, and they’ve asserted that this battle-bus-POV of the map itself is still a work-in-progress, but we can’t be sure if they mean that the illustration of the map or the terrain itself is still yet to be confirmed. Either way, it’s a good starting point in helping players make sense of where they’ll be dropping.

Curiously, the map features a pretty large island at the Northernmost point, featuring a road that circles a large mountain with a flat piece of terrain by its side. What this area holds remains to be seen, but it looks like it could be a very strong spot for players to defend.

When is Fortnite’s Chapter 5 launching?

We know for a fact that the OG season of Fortnite will come to an end on December 2, which gives us less than a month to soak it all up. However, as downtime is expected to help get the Epic Games team ready for the launch of the new season, we can probably expect that Chapter 5 will launch the following day, on December 3. Just in time for the Holiday season.

Some fans can’t wait for it to come, while others are hoping that the current throwback season will never end. One thing’s for sure, though - change is a-coming, and you’d best be ready for it.
