Challenge procrastinators, this is your final warning. There are only two weeks left of challenges. The water-themed season is nearing its end. By now, players should be at or near tier 100 of the Chapter 2 - Season 3 Battle Pass. However, if you’re not there yet or you’re just a completionist, this guide is for you. Week 9 brings a whopping 325K worth of XP in the form of eight new challenges. And if you still need to catch up, we have additional Challenge Guides for weeks 1-8 available for players to revisit.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at our Challenge Guide below for an in-depth breakdown of every single Week 9 challenge and the best course of action for completing them.

Search Chests at Pleasant Park (7) - 35,000 XP

A classic Fortnite challenge at a classic location. Players will need to search seven total chests at Pleasant Park.

Long-time Fortnite players know how rough this challenge type can get on release day. Everyone is going for the same chests, and up to 20-30 players will contest the location at the same time.

If you're in a rush, drop into Solos and head to Pleasant Park. Search as many chests as you can. When there's none left, quit the game. Your progress will still count. Do this until you have searched seven chests.

Players looking to avoid the extra hassle should save this challenge for last. Wait until things die down. You'll save yourself a ton of time and stress.

Eliminations at The Fortilla (3) - 35,000 XP

This challenge takes players to one of Chapter 2- Season 3’s new POIs. The Fortilla is home to Ocean and is packed with Henchmen. Players will need to be careful landing here, as the layout incentivises third partying.

It’s best to tackle this challenge right away. The location will be busy early in the week. The more players are landing at The Fortilla, the more prey you’ll have. Grab a weapon early and post up at a safe vantage point. Focus on distracted players and players with no shields. With some skill and a bit of luck, this challenge should only take a few matches at most.

Gas up a Vehicle at Catty Corner (1) - 35,000 XP

This challenge was supposed to be released in Week 6, but the Joyride Update ended up getting pushed back. Thus this challenge was impossible to complete.

Drivable Cars and Trucks have been introduced into the Fortnite universe. One of the features of these vehicles is that they run on gas. Players will need to visit gas stations around the map to refuel. This challenge asks players to head to Catty Corner’s gas station and fill up their vehicles’ tank.

Be patient with this challenge. Catty Corner is dangerous. The location is flooded with powerful Henchmen and a hot-drop for real players. Grab a vehicle from an outside location first. Cars and Trucks will be everywhere on release. Use this to your advantage.

Wait some time and drive on over to Catty Corner. By now, the Henchmen will likely all be eliminated, and the players will have moved on. This makes gassing up the vehicle much easier. Cruise on in mid-game for a painless challenge.

Stoke Campfires at Camp Cod (3) - 35,000 XP

Camp Cod is an unnamed POI in the south-west corner of the map. The location is a tiny island separate from the main map. Platers need to head there and stoke three Campfires.

There are three different Campfires located within Camp Cod. Stoking a Campfire costs 30 wood. Harvest some wood, find a Campfire, and stoke until the challenge is complete.

Collect Metal at Hydro 16 (200) - 35,000 XP

Continuing with the Unnamed POIs, this challenge takes us to Hydro 16. Hydro 16 is the dam located between Slurpy Swamp and Misty Meadows. Players are tasked with collecting 200 metal at the location.

This challenge is as simple as swinging your pickaxe. Once at the location, metal should be readily available for harvesting. Generators, control panels, dumpsters, and more surround the location, and all provide metal. The challenge will complete once 200 total metal has been collected.

Eliminate Henchmen or Marauders (7) - 35,000 XP

This challenge asks players to eliminate seven of the AI Henchmen/Marauders that patrol the map. This challenge will need to be completed in the standard modes, as Henchmen and Marauders don’t spawn in Team Rumble.

To get the most bang for your buck, head to The Fortilla for this challenge. Here, you can eliminate Henchmen AND real players. This strategy will take care of two different challenges at once. In general, the Henchmen and Marauders can be eliminated anywhere on the map, but you might as well take care of two challenges while you’re at it.

Eliminate Henchmen or Marauders (70) - 80,000 XP

This type of challenge has been a pattern for the past three weeks. It’s the same as the challenge above, just way more AI to kill.

This 80,000 XP challenge is meant to be completed using the updated Party Assist feature. Everyone in your party will share progress toward this challenge. If a squadmate kills a Marauder, for example, you will also receive credit.

This challenge can be completed alone, but having friends to help will really cut the time commitment down. Everyone in the squad can work together and fly through this challenge. And if you choose The Fortilla as your target destination, you’ll actually be working on three challenges at once. Talk about efficiency.

Search Ammo Boxes at Misty Meadows (7) - 35,000 XP

The week caps off with an uninteresting but quick and easy challenge. Players will need to search seven ammo boxes at the Misty meadows POI.

Misty Meadows is one of the largest POIs on the map. Meaning, there are plenty of ammo boxes to go around. This challenge will be a breeze regardless of the chosen game mode.

Players will find ammo boxes in and around every building in Misty Meadows. Locate and open seven of them to finish off the Week 9 challenges.
