We’re in the latter half of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3. At this point in the season, most players should be around tier 70-80 in the Battle Pass. However, don’t worry if you aren’t there yet. Week 7 brings another 360K worth of XP in the form of nine new challenges. And if you still need to catch up, we have additional Challenge Guides for weeks 1-6 available for players to revisit.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at our Challenge Guide below for an in-depth breakdown of every single Fortnite Week 7 challenge and the best course of action for completing them.

Search Chests at Retail Row (7) - 35,000 XP

Fortnite players have been tasked with quite a bit of chest searching lately. This time, Retail Row is the chosen location.

By now, followers of our Challenge Guide Series should know how to approach this challenge. Retail Row is going to be flooded by players the second the new Week 7 challenges drop. People are impatient and everyone wants to get their challenges out of the way ASAP. It will be hard to loot the necessary amount of chests under these conditions.

Don’t follow the pack. Save this challenge for last. Fewer players will drop at Retail Row as the week goes on. Fewer players mean more chests to search. In the end, slow and steady wins the race.

Gain health or shields from SLURP at Slurpy Swamps (100) - 35,000 XP

The iconic Chapter 2 POI has emerged from the depths of Fortnite’s oceans. For this challenge, players will need to generate 100 total health or shields via the SLURP contained within Slurpy Swamps.

The most straightforward way to complete this challenge is to insta-drop at Slurpy Swamps. Head to the bottom floor of the factory and break open one of the many silos. Sit inside and watch your shield meter slowly rise. The challenge will complete once your shield has reached max capacity. The SLURP barrels scattered around the factory will count for this challenge as well.

Collect Floating Rings at Weeping Woods (1) - 35,000 XP

The “Collect Floating Rings” challenges have been bugged this season. Epic Games has been forced to either grant the challenge for free or replace the challenge on multiple occasions. Hopefully, the problem has finally been fixed.

Weeping Woods is home to five total Floating Rings. Players will only need to collect one to complete this challenge. All five rings are placed above one of the many enormous trees. More specifically, the five rings wrap around the south-east corner of the POI. To reach them, players will need to build upwards.

Pair this challenge with the one above. Grab shield at Slurpy Swamps and immediately head for Weeping Woods. Make sure to gather some material along the way. The rings should be visible from a distance. Build up to the top of the trees and the prize awaits you. One game - two challenges.

Find balls of yarn at Catty Corner (3) - 35,000 XP

Kit, Meowscles son and owner of the Mythic Charge Shotgun, has placed four balls of yarn around the Catty Corner POI. This challenge requires players to find three of them.

The first is located on the second floor of the gas station. A second can be found on the ground outside of the gas station. As for the other two balls, there is one in the container above the vault. The last ball is on top of the giant cat tree outside the walls of the main base.

Do not hot-drop at Catty Corner and attempt this challenge. The location is crawling with Henchmen and enemy players. It will be near impossible to acquire the balls while fending off assaults from all sides.

Instead, land somewhere outside and loot up like it’s a normal game. Maybe even do another challenge first, like searching chests at Retail Row. Then, a few minutes into the match, head to Catty Corner. All of the Henchmen will be dead and the players will likely have cleared out. Now, one should be free to complete the challenge.

Collect Stone from Rapid’s Rest (300) - 35,000 XP

Rapid’s Rest is an unnamed POI east of Lazy Lake. Down by the river is a shack and some upturned kayaks. Challenge-seekers will need to harvest 300 stone material at this location.

This will be easier than one may think. Rapid’s Rest is surrounded by boulders that hold high-counts of stone. This challenge can certainly be done in one go. Drop in directly on Rapid’s Rest or visit it mid-game and mine the scraps. Either way, this challenge is a free 35,000 XP.

Eliminate Players (5) - 35,000 XP

Back to the basics with this challenge. Fortnite challenges have gotten more detailed and complicated as time’s gone on. However, this challenge is reminiscent of something out of Chapter 1 - Season 2. Eliminate five players. That’s it. Jump into Team Rumble and this one will be finished in just a couple of minutes.

Eliminate Players (50) - 80,000 XP

The beloved Party Assist feature has been updated. Players will be disappointed to find out that the new system is not available for all challenges. Instead, there will be new challenges with a “recommended” amount of players. These “recommended” challenges are eligible for Party Assist.

On the bright side, the entire party and team will progress these challenges together. And there is NO limit on team size. Meaning, all 20 players on a Team Rumble squad will be able to assist one another in these challenges.

This is a nerf to Party Assist challenge-wide, but a huge buff for a few specific challenges. Eliminating 50 players will take only one game of Team Rumble to finish. You yourself don’t even need to get any kills! As long as the team achieves 50 total elims, everyone will get credit.

Hop into a Team Rumble match and enjoy the generous 80,000 XP.

Search Ammo Boxes at Pleasant Park (7) - 35,000 XP

The water levels at Pleasant Park have completely receded. Players will need to transverse the newly dry landmark in search of ammo boxes.

This is another one of those challenges that are best saved for last. While Pleasant Park has plenty of ammo boxes to go around, it may be difficult to find seven without getting interfered with by enemies. Players not interested in fighting over boxes should wait a few days before attempting this challenge. By then, the crowd will have died down and one should be able to find seven unopened ammo boxes with no issue.

Eliminations at Sweaty Sands (3) - 35,000 XP

The third “Eliminate Players” challenge of the week. This challenge offers an amazing opportunity for fans of efficiency.

Any eliminations achieved at Sweaty Sands will count toward all three of Week 7’s “Eliminate Players” challenges. So, one elimination is essentially worth three.

To take full advantage of this, players should head to Sweaty Sands ASAP after the Week 7 challenges drop. Hunt for at least three eliminations here. This will progress players through all three challenges at once.

To put this in perspective, it’s possible to achieve 150,000 XP in a single game of Team Rumble. All players have to do is get three eliminations at Sweaty Sands and five eliminations total — a feat easily achievable with infinite respawns in Team Rumble. Party Assist will take care of the other 45 eliminations. Just like that, you’re already 33% done with the Fortnite Week 7 challenges.
