Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 Challenge Guide: Week 8
By now, most players are probably closing in on Tier 100 of the Chapter 2 - Season 3 Battle Pass. However, if you’re not there yet, or you’re just a completionist, this guide is for you. Week 8 brings a whopping 325K worth of XP in the form of eight new challenges. And if you still need to catch up, we have additional Challenge Guides for weeks 1-7 available for players to revisit.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at our Challenge Guide below for an in-depth breakdown of every single Fortnite Week 8 challenge and the best course of action for completing them.
Search Chests at Frenzy Farm (7) - 35,000 XP
Readers that have kept up with our Challenge Guides should know how to deal with a “Search Chests” challenge by now. It’s common knowledge that these challenge locations are packed on release day. Half of the lobby will be landing at Frenzy Farm, trying to get their challenges done ASAP. This makes it very difficult to open chests. There might only be one or two chests left available when you consider how many other players are there. This means one challenge will likely take at least four matches.
Work smarter, not harder. Save this challenge for last. By mid-week, everyone will have forgotten about this challenge, and you’ll have Frenzy Farm to yourself.
Eliminations at Salty Springs (3) - 35,000 XP
Challenge #2 takes players to one of the hottest drop spots on the map — Salty Springs. Players will be tasked with achieving three eliminations. There are a couple of ways of doing this.
First, players could just drop into a standard match and head to Salty Springs. This POI is home to tons of challenges and is popular by itself. We can guarantee there will be at least a couple of players there.
Second, elimination seekers could head into Team Rumble. What’s nice about this is Salty Springs is near the centre of the map. Both teams can land there, and the circle will probably include it. There should be plenty of opportunities to claim eliminations without the risk of permanent death. Just head to Salty and give it some time. If it’s in the circle, wait it out, and you’ll hear the sound of enemies approaching in no time.
Complete the boat time trial at Motorboat Mayhem (1) - 35,000 XP
Motorboat Mayhem is an unnamed POI just north of Misty Meadows. This challenge asks players to complete a time trial lap around the location.
Unfortunately, boats have been disabled due to glitches. This means there won’t be any boats to use for this challenge until the issue is fixed. This challenge will likely be replaced when the Week 8 challenges officially drop.
Drive a car from Retail Row to Pleasant Park in less than four minutes (1) - 35,000 XP
Retail Row and Pleasant Park; two of the last remnants of Chapter 1. This challenge requires players to drive one of the new cars from Retail Row all the way to Pleasant Park in less than four minutes. Thankfully though, four minutes is a lot more time than it sounds like.
Land at Retail Row and grab one of the dozens of cars around the location. From there, make a bee-line to Pleasant Park. The fastest method is as follows:
- Take a right turn out of Retail Row
- Follow the road straight and make a left where it forks
- Continue straight until you get to the next intersection
- Turn left. You have arrived at Pleasant Park
Unless you divert from this path, players should arrive at their destination with plenty of time to spare.
Collect Wood from Holly Hedges (500) - 35,000 XP
Not too much strategy to this challenge. Players will need to head to Holly Hedges and farm wood. This can be in the form of trees, bushes, houses, or the plethora of other items that grant wood. Equip one of the brand-new pickaxes and get to harvesting.
Deal damage to opponents from inside a vehicle (1) - 35,000 XP
Epic Games is really promoting the use of the new cars through this Week’s challenges. This challenge asks players to deal a mere one damage to opponents from inside a vehicle. The developers tossed us a freebie with this one. One damage should be easily obtainable.
The downside of this challenge is that it may be difficult to pull off as a solo player. It’s much harder to deal damage as a passenger if you don’t have a driver. Solo players’ best bet is to drive toward enemies and quickly swap seats. Pop off a few shots while the car's momentum takes it forward. The challenge will complete if you can hit just one shot.
This challenge is definitely geared toward groups. Jump into a car with your friends and attempt some drive-bys on unsuspecting players. The whole squad will have fun with this one. You may not even notice completing it.
Deal damage to opponents from inside a vehicle (10,000) - 80,000 XP
Same as the challenge above, but more damage. Nine thousand nine-hundred ninety-nine more damage to be exact. This challenge will need to be completed using the updated Party Assist feature. Ten-thousand damage is equivalent to the health of 100 players. Four players will still take quite some time to achieve this, so head into Team Rumble. Here, you’ll have the entire team of 20 on your side. Every bit of damage dealt from inside a vehicle will count toward your progress. This includes players in boats, helicopters, and cars. Use Party Assist to your advantage and claim an expedited 80,000 XP.
Search Ammo Boxes at Lazy Lake (7) - 35,000 XP
The week of challenges wraps up with another task of searching ammo boxes. This week the chosen location is Lazy Lake. A plus of this challenge is that it usually isn’t as busy as the “Search Chests” challenges. Additionally, there are far more ammo boxes than chests to go around.
Ammo boxes appear in almost every structure at Lazy Lake. Behind the stairwells, on top of wardrobes, etc. It is entirely possible to open seven of these boxes in one trip. However, your chances will increase later on in the week.
We’ll be back next week with another edition of our Fortnite Challenge Guide. Stay tuned here @GGReconEsports for Fortnite news, guides, features, and more.
